USPS on the brink of collapse?

Some people need to get over thinking that the government is the solution to anything. The USPS would be under water already if they werent getting paid to deliver literally tons of junk mail.

How does that compare to what we waste on military?

Some people need to get over the “free market capitalism” thing. Never gonna happen.
FedEx and UPS were asked why they don't deliver mail and they replied by saying " besides the fact that they legally can't, only the USPS is equipped to deliver to every mailbox in the U.S. daily, while private delivery companies only deliver when someone has a package or a pickup, and don't have blanket coverage of more hard-to-reach places, such as rural communities."

Of course they're not equipped to do what the USPS, when the government has legally kept them from being able to compete with the USPS in letter delivery.

Really if you actually used the post office for anything other than getting your new Harbor freight magazine , the 4000 coupons that total up to $1.87 in saving at the Grocery store if you buy 3 25lbs of sugar at once , the Tire store where you can get $4 off a new set of Toyos if you buy a second set at the same time , $150 off a new plastic mesh cover system for your gutters when you contract at least 6 sq. miles of gutter with them , or 67cents off a 50lb bag of blue buffalo dog food . You should think about upgrading how you send and receive important information .

Dont forget the notices about buying an extended warranty for your 15 year old car or refinancing offers for your house. Vitally important stuff.

Damnit I forgot that and the new Vinyl siding all for the new discounted price of $37k plus tax, titles, fees, adjustments, overstock , out of stock , “ special color choice” ( anything but off white ) and a one time /non refundable service charge . ** unless you choose our financial needs options , then just call the office and we will have the documents mailed to you ready to sign anywhere from 10-21 business days .

Pretty much 95% of the stuff that the USPS delivers to me ultimately falls into the category of kindling.

They’re both services provided by the federal government using tax dollars... what is your criteria for comparison?
I remember standing in line to pick up my AT4 and rent a Bradley like every other citizen can. It really reminded me of the post office.

Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Texas.......what do they all have in common????

It's pretty clear what is being done and why. The Trump Administration wants to slow down the delivery of mail by the United States Postal Service, because they believe that Democrats will vote through the mail at a much higher percentage than Republicans. This constitutes a gross abuse of power. It's self-serving corruption. Trump has now politicized the delivery of mail, because he feels it gives him a better chance of winning the election. Of course, this will also have "unintended consequences" entirely apart from the delivery of ballots, but so what? Trump only cares about himself.
