You are still fighting the Cold War and haven't turned the page. Russia is not run by Communists anymore. Have you not been paying attention? When the USSR collapsed and Yeltsin was running the country, millions suffered and a large number of people didn't make it to the other side. You are aware of this, right?

Since Russia bottomed out in the late 1990's, you've seen a tremendous shift towards privatization, low taxes, the re-establishment of the Russian Orthodox church and a renewed effort to restore the Russian family to promote population growth. None of these items can be considered to be communist ideals or institutions.

You've also seen an effort to restore pride amongst Russians and their culture and a desire to be a key player in geopolitics again. This is where we begin to see The West have conflict with Russia because The West is holding on for dear life to maintain control.

So when are you emigrating? Have they approved your visa yet?

It's run by a gangster and his cronies.

When queried before, Ras has said he has given serious thought to moving abroad. Given his love of all things Putin, Grand Vol's question was not a joke. It was an honest inquiry.

Whatever his ultimate decision, he has plenty of time to decide since Putin will probably be Russia's president for another couple of decades.

It's just Ras's way of knowing he got owned. He falls back on the same post time and time again. And I always chuckle at him thinking I'm backed in a corner.

It's not his fault he's not good enough to make a witty comeback.

eta: I also find it humorous he has the link of that post saved. He must think that highly of me to whip it out so often. However, it is a tad creepy he thinks about me so much.

You never did answer my question (which is typical). Its OK for you all to criticize America and her leadership without being expected to leave.

Of course it is okay for us to criticize our leadership.

However, we tend to draw the line at slobbering over another nation's leader. Which you do...often...obsessively often.

So if Russia is so awesome and wonderful, move there. What is stopping you?

I'm gonna stick around here hoping you guys get your act together, but Russia isn't on my destination wishlist.

We can crowdfund your travel arrangements if you like.

Won't be any trouble at all. That way you can take your obsessive behavior with Putin to the Motherland. You can go to his speeches and swoon over him like a teenage girl at a One Direction concert and be happy knowing you are on the right side of history. All while us ignorant Americans continue to bumble about.

Russia is still a corrupt, oligarchal, socialistic government (new age communism!yay!). They ar following China's economic model. Is China communist in your view? The rest of the garbage you spewed is what any country would do to regain/ reassert themselves in the global arena. Just because you read RT and eat their propaganda up, it doesn't make you an expert on Russia.

I could make the case that right now, the US is more corrupt, run by more powerful oligarchs and is more socialist today than Russia is right now.

Yes, plenty of state assassinations, theft, seizure of private companies, and show trials here.

Yes, the American political system is becoming more and more a cruel joke, with its share of corruption and special interest tampering, but let's not pretend like it's the kind of country that allows an opposition figure to get murdered right outside the gates of the Kremlin and then awards medals to the alleged conspirators a week or two later.
