USU Aggies Spring Ball Video

i just cant get on board with anyone who think this UT team will take anyone lightly. Its not happening. Not with as much losing thats been goin and with the fact its opening weekend. They wont be taking anyone light. By the end of August they will so tired of hitting each other. that goes for every school.

I agree but I think The Butch should throw in a new wrinkle. If the team wins by 20+ points, they get Memphis Rub Beer Can chicken served with mash potatoes, green beans, turnip greens, fried cornbread patties and ice tea or lemonade. With desert being a choice of a whole pint of Hagen Daz Rum Raisin Ice Cream, Black Walnut Ice Cream, or triple layered chocolate cake with chocolate fudge between the layers.

Couldn't watch the game with that terrible, terrible, borderline Liberace R&B garbage playing. With that being said the 17 seconds I saw reinforces my faith in the Vols curbstomping them.

Based on talent, UT should win by 17+... UT is faster and especially more agile...and they better hope Keeton gets back.

That's what USC, Auburn, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Tex A&M fans said, too. We didn't win a single damn one of those games, but I'd argue most fans of at least Auburn and Wisconsin felt their team SHOULD have lost and looked like the inferior teams those days.

I don't see how people can have an opinion based off video of a spring game that you guys should "curb stomp us"(some dude a few posts below). But if that's what you think, you'll likely be pretty disappointed. Just letting you know.

I don't know if we'll beat you guys, but our guys aren't scared of names, stadiums, or stars. I agree we will need a healthy Chuckie Keeton to beat you, but all reports are he's right on schedule (if not ahead) and will be back to practicing by June.

Most of those USU players from those teams are gone

Btw he's still coming off a torn up knee. Even when he returns it's going to be a transition for him. I wouldn't just assume he is going to be back and better then ever that quickly.

Why didn't you use your computer's sound control feature to silence the audio?

Your take wouldn't really surprise me, We just aren't what we used to be right now. But being a faithful fan, I'm going to have a little fun in typical Woodsmanvol fashion. i do have Vols disease after all.

May the best team win it's the chance of their life
Let the game begin, start rolling the dice

May the best team win, and the worst team lose
Last team has no choice, the first team choose
UT was born as a leader, that's what we gotta be
UT don't follow rules, instead the rules follow UT
We’re a focused team on the loose, an animal out the cage
An ambitious and vicious champion with a rage
What's the difference between a champion and a challenger?
A champion has already conquered his caliber
You trying to become the champion we became
Fact is, UT has got more wins then a hurricane

May the best team win, and the worst team lose
Last team has no choice, the first team choose

It's going to be game worth watching. Enjoy the show.

That would matter if you had the same coach or players that you had then. You don't. The coach who turned your program is now in Wisconsin. Most of the players have ended their careers over the past 2 years.

I was not surprised on that video to see less athletic players than UT has or that we're used to seeing in the SEC. I WAS surprised to see a team that looked to be poorly coached. The schemes look sound but execution looked bad... at times extremely bad.

That's not the sole basis of my opinion though that video hardened my view. I said that on talent UT should win by 17+ BEFORE watching. UT is faster, bigger, likely stronger on the whole, quicker,.... Your hope is in the possibility that you have better coaching or the "bounces".

I have been critical of Jones... ask people here... but the first part does not appear to be true. The second part we'll just have to see.

If you think that your roster dependent on a lot of new players is close to UT's which also depends on a lot of new but very talented players... then you might want to prepare yourself for disappointment rather than worrying about me.

I don't know if we'll beat you guys, but our guys aren't scared of names, stadiums, or stars.
None of that is worth than a minimal advantage when it comes right down to it. Coaching and talent are what matters most. While I am still not completely sold on UT's staff and especially the DC... UT is MUCH more talented than USU.

I agree we will need a healthy Chuckie Keeton to beat you, but all reports are he's right on schedule (if not ahead) and will be back to practicing by June.

:salute:

You need Keeton to keep it from being a laugher... but he's not good enough to win it by himself and NONE of the WR's he had to build his career to this point are on your current roster. In fact, the RB's are gone too, right?

Neither of the QB's who played in that video are good enough to keep USU in the game.

But the biggest problem for USU is UT's WR's vs your DB's. Your WR's had no trouble at all getting open... some trouble getting the ball delivered or making the catch but no trouble getting open. Imagine your WR's with better hands, more speed, bigger, stronger, quicker... with more of them... and that's what you get with UT.

Just because USU is our first opponent, doesn't mean we have to waste the entire offseason analyzing their every move. Where are the threads on the rest of the SEC's spring games?

would be UT if we stopped at O Line. However, Randolph, Sutton, Coleman return to make up most of the secondary

I'm excited about Cam, but I don't expect our secondary to be great. Passing stats from last year were a bit skewed I think, because opposing offenses didn't have to pass the ball to torch our secondary. If they ever got past the LOS, they were gone.

I know that's as much on the rest of the defense as the secondary.

USU replaces their secondary and several OL's.

They lost their top 2 WR's a year after they had lost their top 5 WR's. All of the guys that helped them rise at the WR position... are gone.

They lost their top 2 rushers last year plus their top rusher the year before. According to one of their fans, they have a talented guy coming back but they have still lost alot at the position.

All in all, they just aren't the same team coaching or talent wise. What they are now... we don't necessarily know. But this isn't the team Petersen lifted out of the trash heap.

Not trying to be rude... but if you don't like discussing this particular topic you don't have to. Some of us think it worth our time.

Our WR corps will be much better than last year, which was led by 2 guys who were 4 year seniors with solid hands but not much else. We return Parade All-American out of HS in 6'5 Junior Brandon Swindall (led the team in TDs last year), Ronald Butler who worked his way up from Juco transfer (offers from Iowa State and Texas) to starter by the end of the season (started the final 2 games) and Jojo Natson (small but quick/shifty, led the team in catches).

RBs were also 2 4 year guys last year who played because of experience. Our best RB started the first few games before slightly tearing his ACL (and continuing to play on it). He has rehabbed the past 6 months and will be cleared to be back 100% in 3 weeks.

I think it's funny how you seem to know so much about our team. Any Aggie fan would tell you that despite losing guys from those teams (several NFL players), our talent level has only increased. Speed wise, strength wise, and our depth has improved across the board over the past 4-5 years. Matt Wells proved himself as a HC and recruiter last year, and not a single person who knows what they're talking about would say coaching has gone down.

Keep thinking you'll kill us with all of that talent. I think your guys' struggles are pretty well noted the past 8-10 years, but I'm not overly surprised at how arrogant you guys are.

Vegas will make the spread about 3 points (some say early lines have USU favored, but those numbers are based off last season in which USU would have been favored by more than a touchdown -http://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/sagarin/ )

Lastly though, sjt you truly are talking out of your ass. At least do everyone a favor and quit talking about USU like you know anything about them. You're giving people too much false hope, and the fanbase shouldn't be disappointed with a small margin of victory or even a loss.

Sorry but there is no comparison between your team and ours as far as size and athleticism. Watch the videos of our scrimmages and practices and yours then be objective. Talent don't always win but if it does this game it shouldn't be very close.

1. All of the USU fans Ive seen have said yall lost a lot of talent. Esp in the OLine.

2. How did he prove himself as a recruiter? I know he landed 1 3*. The way you prove yourself as a recruiter is by beating out other programs for the guys you take.

3. Take a look at your last 8-10 years. How can YOU be so arrogant?

4. Youre talking about an early spread that nobody can seem to find.
