UT flying to meet Mullen today

Or, maybe it isn't, and Currie has done an effective job and kept things on the DL. Maybe WE are the circus, wanting to know, pretending to know, and even making up stuff to believe.

I should have been more specific. I should have said VN is a circus during this coaching search.

Post in RF quotes Hubbs as saying Currie has been in Knoxville this afternoon and stopped by football practice. Odd place to interview Mullen!

I must be more optimistic on Campbell and Brohm, going forward, than you.

It is extremely rare for an established, successful head coach at a major program to leave his team for another college job.
Florida’s top candidate is reportedly the second-year UCF coach with Kelly apparently going to UCLA.

Do you expect us to attract better candidates than Florida?

Florida is a clownshow in itself. A top coach has to consider when signing up, that these yokels went cheap on McElwain’s Colorado State $7 million buyout and his own buyout when they fired him. All the bennies of that job has the caveat of coaching in that circus. How can you expect them to be more honorable with you?

Money talks, and bull**** walks. We will get what we want! UT has raised $980,000,000 in the last 2 years. Just committed $380,000,000 to stadium upgrades. So, they have $600,000,000 just laying around. We could offer $100,000,000 to next coach, and staff. Then, still have $500,000,000 that’s 1/2 billion dollars left to spend!

So in short, yes I expect to attract better coaches than UF!

Mullen = Jones
8 or 9 wins max

Butch couldnt back into a HORRIBLE East title with a top 20 program if it was a wet paper bag. Mullen winning 9 in one of the best divisions in the country at probably the 3rd hardest program in the conference to win at... yeah, they the same.

Lol.

False. He would win and win big here.

Omg! You think so? I think he is who we have seen for the last 9 years. A coach that the west has figured out. Someone who may win the east a time, or two, but get beat like a drum in Atlanta. Nothing about his head coaching career says big winner.

I know it’s a hard place to win at, but I got news it isn’t easy to win at UT either. Much higher expectations here. Much more pressure to win. If we pay him 6-7 million a year. Our fans will be calling for his head at 8-5! Different difficulty’s than St. I know, but I think it’s worth noting.

Mullen is not my top choice by any streach, but I would take him over most the "up and comers" mentioned.

I feel like he would be considered the ”safe” hire. His floor may be considered higher than the up, and comers. Their ceilings however would be much higher.
