UT flying to meet Mullen today

Mullen is not my top choice by any streach, but I would take him over most the "up and comers" mentioned.

Mullen still makes mistakes young coaches make. You'd think after 6-7 yrs in SEC he'd be smarter than hes shown. Plus he's about 8 deep on DCs. Last, there is all kinds of rumors out on him and his recruiting.

I think the difference is Mullen can consistently win 8 or 9 games at UT. While Jones can sporadically win 8 or 9 games at UT.

Butch couldnt back into a HORRIBLE East title with a top 20 program if it was a wet paper bag. Mullen winning 9 in one of the best divisions in the country at probably the 3rd hardest program in the conference to win at... yeah, they the same.

Florida is a clownshow in itself. A top coach has to consider when signing up, that these yokels went cheap on McElwain’s Colorado State $7 million buyout and his own buyout when they fired him. All the bennies of that job has the caveat of coaching in that circus. How can you expect them to be more honorable with you?

We werent able to get a good coach because of the timing. Kiffin left right before signing day putting the program in an incredibly tough spot. And by the time Dooley was fired, the roster sucked and was devoid of talent. Butch Jones recruited well and we have a foundation for a new coach to have success right away. The job is way better than it was the last 2 coaching hires.

The casual fans on this site are really being exposed with this coaching search. We have plenty of talent on the line. We have a young guy who was the #1 recruit in the nation in Trey Smith and others. We have talent... They just need to be coached up. We had recruiting under Jones but zero player development.

Campbell can work. His buyout is big but his salary is not. Pay him $6 mil, he keeps $3 mil and pays out 3 mil to ISU for 3 yrs. after than he gets the $6mil. BUT, HE has a big ass buyout here.
