UT Football. Is it plausible to believe we can win it all?

Get your facts straight. I've never said that UT basketball is bad. In fact, I've said that they're a team on the rise. I've just said that UT has been overseeded the last two years in the NCAA tournament and that many of UT's basketball fans believe they are far better than they really are. It's very difficult to go deep into the NCAA tournament with virtually no inside game. Until UT develops a strong inside game, they will continue to be capable of beating just about anybody on any given day, but will be incapable of stringing together enough wins to reach the Final Four and win a national championship.
Which of course explains how 5 seed UT beat 4 seed UVA.

What gives you the idea Carolina will win. They were the most talented team in the nation last year, but Roy's pothetic coaching lost for them, while a very young Duke team that had lost NCAA Player of the year JJ Redick and 2 time NCAA defensive player Sheldon Williams fought hard throughout the season and overcame some struggles to only be upset on a buzzer beater to VCU. Now that McRobers is gone and Paulus has had a year to mature they will once again regain their spot atop of the ACC.

mcroberts leaving will help duke how?

Because he was overated. His strength is to play inside a lot, but due to Paulus struggling in the middle part of last season he had to play point guard at time and he was terrible. Now that he's gone Lance Thomas and Gerald Henderson can get more playing time.

They were certainly one of the most if not the most talented team in the nation last year, and they were also one of the youngest teams in the nation last year. Now they are one year older and have another year of experience. Duke will be playing a bunch of freshmen this year, and their returning players from last year are average at best. Carolina will destroy them in the post. Quite frankly, I don't see Duke finishing in the top 3 in the ACC this year.

McRoberts never played point guard.

Back to the topic at hand, no it's no plausible. You've been hitting the hippie lettuce with Ricky Williams if you think UT will win the national championship this year in football. They don't even stand a chance of winning the SEC Championship this year. Of courese, kptvol would argue that shouldn't disqualify them from having a chance of winning the National Championship Game.

Why do they not have a chance to win the SEC championship this year?

we do have a chance. Everyone else is down this year. It's still a small chance though. Like maybe 33% at winning the east and maybe 10% at winning both the east and the game itself.

You have to be joking, Hansbrough and Wright are the only 2 players on that team that are any good and now Wright is gone. Wes Miller and Bobby Frasor are terrible and I don't really think that Ty Lawson is that good. Green, Stephenson, Thompson, and Ginyard are all pretty decent. Scheyer is better than Ellington and Paulus is better than Lawson. Carolina had their best opportunity ever last season and blew it. Now Duke is back and ready to take over the ACC.

:lolabove: thanks for giving me a laugh

We'll see who will be laughing when Duke destroys Carolina. It's not about talent it's about the coach's ability to utilize each player so that they can produce the best results. And when it comes down to it Coach K is 1000 times better than Roy.

Guess what? It won't. I don't need to argue anything. That's the way it is.

Alright I'll admit it, Carolina was better than Duke last year and are more talented this year, but both are young and there's a lot of time before the season starts and I think Duke has the potential to be a great team next season.

You're beyond delusional about Duke's aspirations next season. Unfortunately, it will be 5 in a row for Roy after he sweeps you guys again.

I'm not delusional I think realisticly they are a sweet 16 team. Nothing more, but I am optimistic that Smith and Singler can bring a lot to their team.
