UT/VA Tech @ Bristol?

Bristo Motor Speedway Dream Lineup:

Saturday night: Vols vs VT
Sunday night: Titans vs Panthers
Monday night: Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown and Jimmy Buffet Concert
Tuesday night: AA meeting

If you could only fit a Sprint Cup Race for the Chase in there, it would be ideal.

This will be awesome. Yeah, the sighlines may suck, but its all about the carnival atmosphere. Its a made for TV spectacle a la the NHL Winter Classic. Also will be happening when UT is (hopefully) resurgent nationally. Love it.

bingo, and the best place to watch will be the comfort of your own home

I personally despise neutral site games during the regular season but if yall are this excited for it, have fun. It'll look cool on tv.

Watching ESPNU College Football Daily right now...they are talking about the Bristol TN/VT event. The idea they are discussing is to put the bands on the track itself and save all the seats for fans...

Elliot Sadler was being interviewed about it...and his comments were directed towards how loud the stadium will be as it's designed in such a steep angle.

This is gonna be outstanding!!

I just finished a second composite image where I took Bing Maps satellite images using the 100 ft. scale for each and merged them together.

Site lines would not be an issue but the raw distance from the field would make many seats very far from the action and difficult to see.

Nevertheless, it's going to be a historic event and will be huge for our program!

Us folks in the Tri- Cities have been waiting for this a long time. Between the locals and everyone traveling from Knoxville, Blacksburg , and elsewhere this thing will sell out. Personally I will be buying tickets the day they go on sale.

Is the Bristol track/infield even big enough for a football field? It's tiny! Who said the sightlines would be bad? The seats practically go straight up. Upper deckers would be looking down quite a ways, to be sure--but not down AND away.

BMS straightaways are over 650 ft.. so yea, I think they can fit a field in there.

Personally I don't get to Neyland but a couple times a year. Only because the tickets that I'm willing to pay for are in the nosebleeds and I would rather just watch it at the house. However, this is a once in a lifetime game. Man up.

"It won't work".
"You won't be able to see".
"They need to provide binoculars."
"I'll just watch from home, no thanks".

What in the name of the Wide Wide World of Sports is wrong with you negative freakin' nancy/ Debbie downer/ mamby pamby / crotchety crotch/whiney willy/so and so's? A national stage, historical college football game, recruitment possibilities out the wazoo. Not to mention, I'm renting a motorhome with hookers. And no, those mentioned above will not be admitted, but you ain't comin' anyway.

This has been in the making for years....I still remain skeptical due to all complications that will emerge (contracts, scheduling, preperations, etc.)

I agree with you but hope it happens. We'll know Monday. I'll trade my Harley for a good seat!!!!!!!!!!

If you wanted to, you could add more near level seating in the infield and sell as many as 180-200,000 tickets. That would be one heck of a traffic jam/tailgate.

I'm getting a motorhome for this sumbeach. This is gonna be amazing. I grew up in VA and most of my high school went to VT, or at least tried, and those that couldn't went to Radford.

I've never been to the BMS. Is it that much higher than Neyland? Or is it just the perspective. Given the blacktop area at BMS is about 650 ft. the rest looks correct. Nice job.

You could almost fit 2 football fields in the infield.

I saw something earlier that said our usual Monday press conference has been cancelled, because Butch and somebody (Hart maybe) will be in Bristol.
