UT vs. KU

For forums I was just suggesting the good KU board if anyone wanted to go over there and chat.

Morningstar and Reed have been shooting real well as of late (Especially at home). Aldrich is a beast but didn't fare too well when there was a dominant big man in the middle (See Arizona and Hill). He just can't get into early foul trouble which plagues him. He always picks up a couple of cheapies (wedges..).

I'm really looking forward to being in Allen Fieldhouse. This is the biggest non con game I've seen there since Michigan State came in ranked in the top 10 a couple years ago.

I did go over there yesterday to post a few comments but as of today still no approval from the mods to post. Oh well. Seems like a pretty good board.

I've tried a couple of times and it says it's going to e- mail me the right information to sign up . Still no emails:dunno:

I love how Memphis fans still think Chalmers' foot was on the line...Tards...

UT D has to show up.
must rebound
have to hit 2 ft shots.

or we get beat...

young maturing team would be a good win but hard to see right now.

I don't quite get why I keep reading that your team is young. We have 11 soph and freshman. If I see it right you start 4 juniors and one freshman. Why so you consider this young?

Our playmakers are all new(ish).
Check out how many years our players have played for UT
Tyler Smith 1
J.P. Prince 1.5
Bobby Maze 0
Cameron Tatum 0
Brian Williams 1
Scotty Hopson 0
Renaldo Woolridge 0
Emmanuel Negedu 0
Wayne Chism 2
Josh Tabb 2

See...Only 2 players who sees minutes have 2 years of playing experience for UT. True, players like Tyler, J.P. and Bobby are all juniors, but when they haven't played for UT for too long, they take on the mantra of "young". It's a mental thing...

crusse- OK, that makes sense. You are a young TEAM and we are both YOUNG and a YOUNG TEAM.

Fine Vol- I think we are unranked because we started the year out unproven. If you read KU fans posts we still are not sure what we have. If fans that follow the sport fanatically are unsure, just think about those who vote on ranking and don't know our team as well as we do.

I will be interested to see how our team handles your press and if Self slows this down to a half court game. We play both equally well (or not). The problem with young players is that they speed up when excited. Tyshawn Taylor is a good example of this as he has a quick mind and body.

JLBB I just know Kansas as one of the biggest BB power houses in college year in and year out. Just because you Jayhawks are down they still scare me.

Part of the reason they aren't ranked is because they lost 3 and started out ranked low. They started that low because the majority of the team is new to seeing the court.

I'm listening to KU radio pre game and they are reporting seeing a lot of orange in the fieldhouse. They said Tenn fans were "rabid".

So, is Bruce wed to fast paced ball? Is that where most of your points come from? Do you ever slow it down?

Yes. We are a run and run and run sorta team. I'm fairly sure Bruce would make our players practice with a cross country team if he could give up a practice a week. Our team is known for its conditioning and ability to run when the other team is tired.
I'll put it this way, one of our centers, Brian Williams, came to Tennessee at 300 lbs. He's now 267. Before getting to UT, he was in the 330s, and was told he needed to be at or under 300 before getting to school.
