This article (LOOK: Tennessee's big recruiting weekend appears to be a massive hit with several elite JUCO prospects) raises an interesting point with respect to the quartet of highly-rated JUCO prospects from Arizona Western C.C. "Pruitt's staff at Tennessee could be setting the template for future programs to follow," particularly new coaching staffs faced with the immediacy of an early signing period. With so little time to make inroads on the recruiting trail and fans anticipating a quick fix on the field, it makes sense to pursue elite junior college talent all from the same programs.

If Tennessee can sign multiple players from Arizona Western or ASA College, some of that may be accomplished due to the opportunities being given to these players to continue their playing careers together at another program. If the move pays off for the Vols, don't be surprised to see new staffs follow suit this time next year."

Be careful of going the JUCO route, more times than not they are only marginally good players not studs.

I would be curious how JUCO's faired with teams that have finished in top 10 at end of season. In other words is it (like high school) how well teams find fit and development.

There have been plenty of "busts" out of high school for us too.

Listen.... if we’re still heavily recruiting JUCOs a year from now, I’ll be concerned.

As is, this staff was dealt unchartered territory (early signing period) and a roster with holes. I trust everything they do until they give me a reason to otherwise.

Aight?

its called desperation

Stupid post--and I don't like criticizing others' posts, but dayam..this one is stupid. The guy just got hired, he has two to three years grace period. Do you really think he's in desperation mode already? Of course not--he's just trying to take the best and fastest path to success. I think he is smart.

Pruitt won't recruit players like Dooley or Jones, thank God, he knows real talent when he see's it:)

Does anyone know whether we have tried to get QB?

Its called getting the best damn players you can to compete regardless. These coaches are way smarter than most/all of you pencil necks on here so STFU and let them do their job. In Jeremy We Trust!

You think this is something...watch what happens after the dead period. All recruits that did not sign early will be fair game no teams commitments will be safe from this staff!
