I'm not an expert, but he looks really quick. If he could put on 25-30 lbs and maintain that quickness, seems like he'd be pretty lethal.
This is all I could find on his track times. Pretty sure its him. Not sure how it compares but 12 flat 100 seems pretty good at his size.

I definitely wouldn't be upset if we take him. Highlights are definitely impressive.

Or, if it were me, I would consider keeping him at same weight and giving him a look at SS.
We could use a guy like him patrolling the secondary.
Was actually thinking this when I saw how quick he gets to the ball.

And we need another secondary guy. He is NFL SS size already.

This dude's head is not even attached to his neck. He changes his mind about red vs blue more than my wife. Do not want! Spez was talking about RJ. Eugene looks like the ****!

His highlights looked a little like Beasley but blitzing every time. Haha and an absurd amount of blocked kicks. Definitely earns the assassin nickname. Hahaha

He ran 12 flat in the 100...

I ran that in 9th grade at 165 lbs...

He's in the 4.7 40 range.

Whatever...his tape looks good 👍
But 12 flat at 215 lbs? That sounds good but I don't really know much about track times at different weights.

I really can't understand these dumbass rankings. Dude is NOT a 2 star. He's probably faster already than most of our lb's on the roster. I understand that here in NOVA, Westfield aint a powerhouse, but there are plenty of talented teams in this region. Seems to be a solid find, IMO. Certainly has the speed, size and attitude.

Westfields is and has been one of the most dominant football teams in NOVA for quite some time. This kid just moved to LB this year. I think he’s a great find. Natural.

12 second 100 meter translates to a 10.97 second 100 yard dash, or 1.097 seconds per yard. 1.097 x 40 roughly translates to a 4.39 second 40 yard dash. I'll take sub 4.4 speed anytime.

Doesn't work that way.
0-40 isn't equally linear to 0-100. Obviously the average is higher on 100 yards due to running max speed for a longer duration, which ups the average. You can't use the back end 60 yards at full speed as a factor for determining the start of a 40 yard run.

True. Point is, his 40 time is likely better than 4.7.

I like the sound of this.

"A perfect mix of power and speed, Asante can run by or through his opposition. The Concorde District Player of the Year was named first-team, all-state was clocked at 4.48 in the 40-yard dash and patterns his running style after legendary National Football League running backs like Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson and Marshawn Lynch."

Despite the maths, I'll take it!

MATH MOTHERF***ERS!!!

BOOYAH

The thing is track speeds are a lot easier to trust than 40 times, so anyone running 12s or faster is going to have some speed. You find a kid running 10s in HS in official track meets, you got yourself a burner!

I don't know where the 4.7 came from? I watched some highlights full screen and thought he looked like a mid-4.5 guy...

Then I saw the left side of his Hudl ;)
  • Jersey #: 8
  • Positions: RB, OLB
  • Height & Weight: 6'1" 212lbs
  • 40 Yard Dash: 4.54
  • Bench: 345
  • Class of: 2019

..... So there's that

Good highlight tape... I'd say he's a little slow to react when not blitzing but I'd have to watch a few games to lay that out as a fault... looks solid to me for a 3-4 ILB prospect

Interesting that he ran track. Said he competed in the 100. Wonder what his time was at that size. Also says he was a rb and didn't play defense till senior year. Could explain the lower ranking and why most of his better offers came after his senior season.
If any of you still think rivals, or any other have it all figured out and hang on to star rankings like it’s life and death need to study your post
