Junkano Beach & Queens Staircase are some cool things to do there. Junkano Beach is legendary. easy walk from the port. You have to walk past the marketplace. Tons of souviners. You will be harassed as you walk by, as people want to shop at their shop. Queens Staircase is neat, you can also visit Fort Finncastle which is nearby.

Thanks for the recommendations Smash, we’ll check it out.

On a more somber note, found out that a husband killed his wife last night and tried to throw her overboard and she landed 2 stories below on the boat we’re going on. Sick bastard.

I'd love to live in Cusco. I think if I'm in Peru though I'd be in Lima.

Ah Lima, the city with 30% of the population and 70% of the money. If you do move to Peru let me know. I recently had a bad experience shipping our possessions into the country, but now I have contacts that could make yours pleasant.

Big fan of John Watling’s distillery as well.

I might take you up on that in the next year or so.

I want us to get virtually debt free before we move. My wife could get a job easy, being a Peruvian with a nice network there, but I'm worried about myself.

Peru is absolutely amazing. The food is literally the best in the world.

I wouldn't go that far, the national dish, peppers, onions and beef is okay but not world best. Now, they do know how to cook some fish in the low country. I've never been in the mountainous regions so I'm sure what their food is like.

You need to come experience the country more adequately

Technically I don't get vacation day and I'm never truly off, I've worked from the beach to a mountain top.
