Got engaged in March and am scouting areas for our honeymoon next fall. What does everyone recommend as some top spots. Hawaii is definitely high on our list right now. No Mexico, been there and it was okay but not spectacular. Bahamas is nice but would rather go somewhere we both haven’t been. We’ve been to..
Bahamas
St Thomas
San Juan
Cancun
Turks and Caicos

I would look into St Maarten on the Dutch side if it’s not too messed from last years hurricanes. I had a great time there.

I’ve never been but had friends who did one of those tent / 4 wheel drive tours of the island and said it was great. old leper colony was there.

My wife isn't much of a camper so don't think we'd do that. But the island is appealing to me in a couple ways... first, I've never been. But mostly because it's devoid of development and is authentically Hawaiian. My wife, however is concerned about a lack of things to do. I'm thinking we'd relax at the beach, do some hiking, snorkeling, horseback riding, and rent a fishing charter off the north coast which looks spectacular

Yes, I heard it is spectacular regarding natural beauty. Incidentally, the group that my friends went with was hardly 'roughing it'. They had gourmet meals cooked for them. Tents were set up by staff. I don't think rain was ever an issue.

Really??

Do you happen to know the outfit they used?

In Wrightsville Beach for a wedding. Rented a skiff for the morning exploring Masonboro island

Anyone ever been to Maine? I'm flying up to NYC and renting a car. I want to drive up to Maine and see a few lighthouses and whatever else I can find. Recommendations?

Bangor, Portland, and Arcadia are all beautiful and good spots to visit.

Go to Camden on the coast, it has a really nice state park with a 880 foot cliff that offers views of the sound. Also try the Lobster Pound just outside of town to the north. It has a large lighthouse right in town. It's about an hour south of Acadia. Penobscot bay is the name of the inlet.
