I guess there is probably a good reason that God commanded the children of Israel to abstain from pork. I remember when I was a child my mother refused to eat pork of any kind.
I’m a Torah keeping believer in messiah.
The first misunderstanding Christians have (IMO) is the definition of sin. Sin isn’t evil. It’s just missing the mark. Or acting in a way that wasn’t intended. It doesn’t mean you’re going to hell. (There is no hell) it just means you messed up. Remember we had sacrifices for sins we didn’t know we committed.
I say that to say this.
The dietary restrictions of Torah were to be a blessing not a curse. Basically the G-d that created your body said “this is your food, if you want to live a long healthy life these are the things you should eat.
Not eating the things Torah told me not to does not give me some sort of righteousness. It just means I’m less likely to suffer illness related to food.
