Vaccine or not?

If you can carve out hundreds of thousands of exceptions then it's not a mandate. It's also no longer about health and safety either

Who is it funny to? What's funny?

It seems to me that you are suggesting that once a population does enough of what a government mandates, it should receive part of its freedom back. I would argue quite the contrary -- that if a free population is stripped of its freedom, it should overthrow the government and replace it with one that has no power to do that.

I swear I’ve read that somewhere lol

Just a little positive news. I am presently in Amsterdam. Got here at 7am today. Flying back about 8 tomorrow morning. After leaving the airport, I haven't seen a mask anywhere. We went for a 15 mile bike ride out thru the country, going thru various little towns along the way... no masks anywhere. The people have had enough. The governments are trying desperately to hold on to their control. This will continue as long as we let it.

**** Joe Biden and anyone that supports him.

You are just darling! Love, why don't you go read up on the scope of a state's inherent police powers and get back to me.
I can’t imagine being so ignorant and incapable of trekking through everyday life on my own, without the guidance from an invisible hand of bureaucracy and the opinions of 537 everyday folks just like me. It must be terrifying.

Help me understand what you’re suggesting. Covid parties (ala Chicken pox parties)?
Live life and see what happens. Currently have 3 family members with it (and they feel it, not just the sniffles) and none have required anything close to hospitalization or emergency treatment. Took them 20 months of going about life normal to finally contract it. Now they’ll have immunity, kept having their fun and never had to cower in the innermost room without windows.

First trimester pregnant women and girls in Texas say hello.
Damn them for taking away their freedom to murder another living being. The biggest mental gymnastics for liberals are the anti-capital punishment and anti-hunting crowd while simultaneously advocating for abortion. Criminals and doves are granted more rights and a life deemed more worthy of living than a child.

He mandated that the companies with over 100 employees shall require either a vaccine or over the top testing as a condition of employment, gave them a time limit and threatened them with enormous fines using the power of the federal government and his office … that by definition is called a MANDATE .

You should stop now . 😊

You're trying too hard.

He mandated that they get the vax OR get tested.

The OR get tested gives one the choice, which is the differentiator.

That is, you don't have to get vaccinated.

Put another way: it's A mandate but not a VACCINE mandate.

I thought you righties were hard core constitutionalists. I know I am. BTW I'm pro gun ownership and carry and pro hunting. I suspect I own more guns than the average righty on this forum. I carry my PM9 IWB almost every day. I would carry it every day but some days I stay home.

What do you think...should an employer with 105 employees lay off 6 vaccinated or 6 unvaccinated to get to 99?

Sane employers would want their staff to be inoculated against illness, both for productivity reasons as well as decency reasons.

Well that is very fortunate that they didn’t suffer too much, glad to hear it. The three patients I intubated yesterday in our ICU and their families aren’t so fortunate. When I left the hospital we had 23 probable covid holds in the ED and no available beds. All but one of our in-house Covid patients is unvaccinated. Perspectives are interesting.

There’s likely a lot of people who have had Covid already and still don’t know it. If the government makes a caveat for those who have had Covid, everyone without a confirmed case should go get an antibody test. It would be laughable if/when the majority of unvaxed are naturally immune. When the CDC admits the extrapolated serology tests show this exact scenario it makes the vaccine more obsolete and opens more questions as to why it’s being pushed so hard.
It’s funny….there’s just a lot we really don’t know. And there are a lot of people speaking like we know everything

Good post. I don’t agree with you on a whole lot of things, but we’ve been of the same mind on this for a while.

We probably agree on more than you realize. We just talk a lot about the things we don’t. It doesn’t help that I enjoy sparing with you so we tend to converse on the things we disagree on. At least when I start the conversation anyway

Didn't the President call it a mandate?

It is a mandate, but it's not a "you're required to get the vaccine" mandate.

That you have an option is a distinction and difference.

One can keep their job and not get fired for not getting the vaccine.
