Vaccine or not?

if I previously had Covid I’d probably not take the vaccine either.
Although there’s a nurse at my GPS office who currently has Covid. She had Covid before and has been vaccinated so who knows but I’d need to see a study of previous Covid and vaccinated vs previous Covid and unvaccinated to change that stance.

I think, could be wrong, that you said you had some underlying issues. In that case, I am for it. If I had any breathing issues Covid would scare the **** out of me. By Gods grace I don’t and I have been blessed with good health.

Hal-e-freaking-lu-ja. This is all those of us that are skeptic are saying. Come back with that study in about 5 years and we'll talk.

Don’t deflect. You know.

Does the vaccine vaccinate? Or does it provide therapeutic measures to lessen the symptoms?

I asked what you were babbling about because you went on an accusation straw man tantrum.

is the flu vaccine a vaccine?
Don’t answer. I don’t care what it’s called. It’s effective and the evidence backs that up. You’re free not to take it. That’s fine with me. If you need to lie to yourself to justify that….that’s ok too.

it’s clear I struck your nerve with that meme so maybe you’re not as sure as you think you are.

I've always understood you may still get the flu after the flu vaccine, but you're not as likely and it probably won't be as bad. Sounds similar.

This is fair argument.

But no one forces you to get one when it’s flu season and oddly enough what ever happened to flu season last year? It’s like it never happened.

were in agreement on the mandate. No one should be forced. And talk to an infectious disease doctor. It’s false to say there was no flu season last year. All infections disease was down last year. It’s almost like all the sudden people started washing their hands, using their hand Sani and taking other precautions

I don’t even remember a meme. I just like to mix it up from time to time with the folks that follow in lock step, to see what they are spinning today.

By the way I call the flu shot a shot. And I haven’t taken one in 15 years. And I’ve been in healthcare for 22 years. I haven’t had the flu in 17 years. But don’t worry you don’t have to mask around me.

Probably not, which shows the lunacy of what's going on right now.
That’s the difference between you and me.
It’s always been about the numbers with me.
And I don’t mean just this Covid lunacy. Every business and personal decision I’ve made since my mid 20s has involved some form of numbers crunching

Valid argument and many were not around others. I can’t dispute that right now.

if you’re going to “mix it up” with me you might want to know what I think on the issues. I doubt your in any form of medical diagnostics as your once again on a straw man stance in that post. Sadly because of that limitation you won’t know what you we’re wrong about.

I'm on the fence about requiring it. I'm not keen on govt mandates, but we've done it for years with MMR, etc for kids to get into public school. Employers can do what they want as far I'm concerned. Regarding the flu last year, I wonder if the distancing/masks had an effect on that.

Here’s the rub.
The flu shot is based on the previous season. They predict the dominant strains based on the recent past. It’s my understanding that this year’s flu shot will be very difficult to predict.

My point is this: a vaccine is a treatment given to induce the immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies to a pathogen or toxin. It's hard to argue that these are not "vaccines."

Their efficacy, durability, protection vs variants, etc can certainly be debated, but I don't understand why we shouldn't call them what they are.

Relax and proofread. Because of that limitation I have no clue what you are talking about.

So wife and I have been discussing this and just can’t come up with a logical explanation.

My wife’s grandfather is 97, he does not have the vaccine and he has been around multiple people(verified by positive test) who had covid-19. He has not come down with covid during this entire thing which is almost unbelievable.

Could it be possible his mother(breast milk) passed antibodies from the Spanish flu which have protected him? Again we can’t figure it out.

Thoughts?

Im curious cuz i as well "crunched " numbers and compared them as if those numbers were effecting a business and the impact...
I started with the Co-01 studies beginning in 2002 and went down every rabbit hole I came across.
The red women has survived liver cancer, a bad car wreck while pregnant with twins that ended up with one not making it and the other being delivered 10 weeks early. Then later both she and my son went through a few years of chronic Lyme disease treatment that the infectious disease dr believes came from a blood transfusion because of the wreck.
I tell you all of that to tell you this. I’m very accustomed to reading medical studies and reports now. So when I say I looked at everything I mean I looked at everything available at the time and talked to a lot of people. It’s not like there’s one or two studies I can point you to.

I think at some point we will know why some folks are more susceptible to getting it than others. There will be some private institutions that figure some things out and publish their findings. All the while the CDC and NIH continue to monkey hump a football.
