Vaccine or not?

This is not about "YOU" or "ME" this is about humanity, America and doing what's right. You just don't get it. In my opinion, you are just a self centered individual who doesn't care about America. You ever been in the military? Vets care about America and all vets have earned the right to have their own opinions as American Patriots. We all certainly don't agree on everything, but we've earned that right to have our opinions. Still the fundamental belief among Vets is that they want what is best for America
Its 99% survivable. Just stop with the panic already

I want to thank anyone who served. Be it as a supply clerk or a grunt in the trenches.
I did not serve but many, many in my family have served. Several retired. Several currently serving. One a helicopter pilot, one special forces.
My point... military runs deep in my family.
With that said just because you served that doesn't make you any different than the common American that chose a different profession. The blue collar working man wiring a house, a MD who put himself through school etc...
We're all Americans and your opinion is worth nothing more than mine.
You don't get to make decisions for me because you served 4 years or more.
Again thank all the men and women who served, but you're not a level above me.

Because they don't gas about herd immunity
That’s becoming more and more apparent. We have stepped away from science in that respect and people should be screaming their heads off about it.
Side note,
My doctor who refused to antibody test me in June got covid and turned to be a big advocate for antibody testing. Tested negative twice with raging symptoms. 5 days later he had to insist on being retested and came back pos. He waited in an ER for 8 hours to get MCA. Said he woke up the next morning feeling 50% better. He got bad covid brain with depression and anxiety.
We had a very frank long discussion this morning. He told me if I got let go I could come work there. I told him jokingly he couldn’t afford me.

EXCLUSIVE: In CA, Otherwise Healthy 15-Year Old Dies Two Days After Second Pfizer Shot

Over the 18 months of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, data and studies worldwide concerning children and COVID-19 have shown the chances of contracting and spreading COVID-19 are minimal compared to the adult population. Some have warned that forcing children to take a minimally tested vaccine would have its consequences. Even the World Health Organization recommends a measured process and further study before mandating the vaccination of children:
Why the need to proceed with caution? One reason is illustrated by what happened in Sonoma County, CA when an otherwise healthy 15-year-old teenager was found dead by his mother. The teenager had received his second dose of the Pfizer vaccine two days prior.

From the Death Investigation Synopsis Report, courtesy of Reopen California Schools:
The decedent was found unresponsive in his bedroom after his mother was checking on his welfare long after he was supposed to wake in the morning. The decedent was pronounced dead at the scene due to obvious death. The decedent had been in good health with no medical history and had received his second Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccination approximately two days before his death.

Also:
  • Correlation is not causation
  • p is still <0.01
  • VAERS also lists boredom and loss of poker games as side effects of vaccinations

Wasnt some of the scare tactics on Covid impotence and wondering bowel syndrome or something.

Weird on both sides.

Your military service doesn't give you some greater right to have an opinion then someone who hasn't served. That's asinine and flies in the face of the document you swore to protect.

5x? I thought it was like 90% effective? That should be 9x. Amazing how the goal posts shift.

I ask again, at what success rate would people admit it's not worth pushing?
The summary from the CDC
The incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection, hospitalization, and death is higher in unvaccinated than vaccinated persons, and the incidence rate ratios are related to vaccine effectiveness.

Question. Are you scared or nervous about being around someone that is unvaccinated? Do you believe the vaccine to be effective? If so, why do you care if other people choose to get it? If it’s effective, you and your family (assuming they are vaccinated) should be safe.

And I’m vaccinated. I think the numbers show that it is keeping people from becoming seriously ill. If the vaccine is effective, what is the concern for the vaccinated?

I chose to be vaccinated but it’s not my place to tell others to. Being in the medical field, I have also seen people have serious side effects from the vaccine. While this may be rare and not the norm, there are certainly numerous cases out there.

So far, 20 children in the state have died of covid-19.
“It should be zero,” said Diego Hijano, a pediatric infectious disease doctor at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. “As a community, we’re doing very poorly in taking care of each other,” he said.

RSV is more dangerous for children. At least young children. Are we searching for a vaccine for that?

And I’m by no means down playing these deaths. I have a 1 year old in the bed right now and can’t fathom what these families have gone through. Just pointing out that there are other viruses/sickness that pose a greater risk to kids.

This is such a ridiculous comment. First off, it's 20 deaths 0-age 20. Secondly, there has been no distinction in hospitals whether admits and deaths are caused by or are incidentally diagnosed with CV19 (most pediatric hospitals report c. 40% being the latter). Finally, 20 deaths in nearly 2 years is a failure, and it "should be zero?" Zero deaths from a novel pandemic virus that has infected nearly a million kids in the state, and maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the nation??? That's preposterous.

Covid hospitalizations in children are down ~60% from the peak in early September. Also, we are past the peak in intubations and total ICU patients in children.

Also, even covid cases in general in children are way down.

That tweet and headline is garbage. BTW, these screenshots are directly from TN.gov.

Was about to post the same. Here's Knox county schools:

Look at them "soaring!"

My 21 year old was 10 weeks early. He was given the RSV vaccine I don’t remember the schedule but it was for the first 2 years of his life. We were told not to take him in public and we didn’t. But he came through it ok.
That's not actually a vaccine. Synagis is basically RSV antibody. We give it monthly to high risk babies during respiratory season.
