Vaccine or not?

I bet if they check his internet activity, he will have been encouraged to take some form of action (but not murder) by others and told what a hero and patriot he would be. Or his history will show large amounts of inflammatory media through Rumble or Telegram and the like.
He probably has a long psych history too but who knows.

Real smart of this lady to post the name and contact information of the transplant coordinator who had no say in whether she was a transplant candidate or not. I’m sure transplant centers across America will be thrilled to accept her now that her actions have threatened the life of this coordinator.

Are you seriously more concerned with the safety of Katie Hamann (the kidney transplant coordinator) then the safety of the lady who's life is actually in danger. The hospital is basically just writing her off, her life is worth nothing to them. I hope thousands of people bombard the hospital with calls and emails demanding that they change their stance. I called the number for Katie today basically just wanting to verify that it was true and her message box was full and not able to take any messages. Hopefully this is a sign that people are calling and giving her a piece of their minds..

This is inhumane. This is insane that it's happening in America and people like you are actually ok with this and are more concerned about the coordinators safety. You say that this lady is only doing her job and she has no control. At some point, all people have to be held accountable for the decisions they make. Absolutely every decision we make impacts someone's life in some way or another. We will one day be held accountable for every decision we make. At some point people need to have a conscience and do what's right, even if it means loosing your job or being fired for it.

I don't think it's that simple.

Lifeboat ethics are part of transplant decisions all the time.

Unless you are a medical expert, you are in no position to judge the criteria the experts believe makes the most sense for the use of finite resources.

In this particular case would seem they've made the decision that the utility of such a rare commodity varies based on chance of survival which in turn is in part a function of getting the vaccine.

You can debate the politics. However the science is firmly on their side.

I definitely don't claim to be a medical expert. That being said, I don't think it takes a medical expert to see that this is unethical and it is wrong.

If the transplant team opts to give the heart to the otherwise healthy 19 year old versus the 90 year old with emphysema, that ok?

Watching Lindsay Graham get booed repeatedly by his own supporters when he encouraged them to even just think about getting the vaccine, and called a liar by one when he pointed out the objective numbers of unvaccinated versus vaccinated in South Carolina hospitals is both hilarious and pathetically sad.

I had a family member who had a kidney transplant. The list is long an there were a lot of qualifications that had to be met. I was a kid at the time but I'm pretty sure she had to take immunosupressants to insure she didn't reject the kidney. I dont know how the medicine works. The docs at that facility may think that her refusal to get the vax lowers her risk of long term survival, thereby taking a kidney away from someone with a better chance. The medical professionals could think I'm wrong. Just my guess.

This lady is not going to die if she doesn’t get the transplant. If/when her kidneys fail completely she will likely require dialysis 3 times a week which will be inconvenient for her but she will not die. However her getting a transplant and then getting covid will put her at a much higher risk of death than getting covid without a transplant. And by her posting the name of the coordinator she is putting an innocent bystander at risk of death threats and attacks from the mob.

Are they placing the 90 year old inactive on the waiting list?? In other words, even if nobody else needs the kidney when it becomes available she is no longer a valid candidate for the transfer simply because she refused to take the jab.

I doubt it. Probably makes it easier to fire you regardless of your position on the jab.
My company is flexing their authoritarian muscles on this right now. By Jan 1 it is a requirement that all employees be jabbed. Yesterday they sent a pretty eye opening Borg-esque email. I’m guessing they were not seeing a lot of compliance and were flexing their muscles. Yeah… that’s gonna blow up in their faces. We already can’t hire enough qualified engineers and these dumbasses are gonna run off a lot of what we have today and make it harder to recruit more. Fourteen more months…

Yep. Like Trump. He certainly would never recommend the vaccine. No way!

He does but then in the same breath tells them it's perfectly fine if they don't. And they even boo him for it.

Remarkable the level of pride the anti vax people have in their own stubborn ignorance.

So you are saying in this case it would go unused? I don't think that is correct.

He recognizes it’s up the individual to decide. I don’t have it and don’t need it.

You do realize that HIV+ and Hep B organs are transplanted to pts with hiv and hep b right? We know these pts have a higher risk of dying post transplant. So they are going directly against transplant science for the last 15 years and the acceptable risk transplantation represents which is considerable. They have a higher risk of rejection than catching covid.

He seems nice and stable.

And I betcha his kids got a host of other vaccines without any temper tantrums from daddy.

Very interesting. So you can say definitively that she will not die without a kidney transplant? Please provide proof.

Lol. Bidens daddy isn’t even requiring their kids to be vaccinated going back to school. And like most branch covidians, you seem to believe this shot is like the other childhood vaccines. You people continue to show your idiocy.

the patient herself states she will start dialysis if she isn’t transplanted at the end of this article and her diagnosis is end stage renal disease which means the kidneys have failed to a point where they are shutting down. The treatment for that is either dialysis or transplant.
Colorado Springs woman denied kidney transplant because of COVID-19 vaccination status
Kidney Failure (ESRD) Causes, Symptoms, & Treatments
Transplant centers have required vaccination for all potential recipients for decades. Here is the current recommendation from the acip on what vaccines are needed.

Not proof. Provide the proof she won’t die without the transplant. You stated she will not die without it. Now prove your statement with factual evidence.
