Vaccine or not?

That big of a change appears to be an outlier is all I was getting at.
Not really. As you can see, after the peak, there was a precipitous decline -- very much like we saw around the first of the year after everyone predicted a post-holiday surge. Screenshot_20211006-122321_Outlook.jpg

A bill has been introduced that will not allow unvacconated passengers to fly. From what I understand this could even private planes flying from any airport approved by the FFA. Freedom Flyers is a grassroots movement that is fighting back against this tyranny.

Screw them. I’m perfectly happy to drive everywhere and not deal with the craziness these days. A colleague of mine just got stuck on both ends of the flight and lost almost 3 days due to delays. No thanks.

I can relate. My wife and I flew to Maine last week for a little getaway and I wouldn't be surprised if that's my last time flying. I never wear a mask so the 2 hours on the plane were no fun at all. I'm not sure how people survive off of fumes all day but I won't do it.

Exactly. I already contacted southwest in regards to their mask for two years and told them I will not be flying after my 1 year old turns two.

Has the vaccine been studied for transplant conditions? I legit dont know. I know my uncle just gave a kidney to his sister but they both had the same vaccines. But "cross pollonization" especially on a compromised system seems worth study.

If she is willing to take the risk, why not? I get the standard for cases of random assignment of organs. Those are precious and need to be protected. But this is a one to one. And the Covid vaccine isnt a guarentee, even when compared to other vacs.

To me there is way more assumption on the Covid vaccine than the data backs up. Yes it works, but does it really work well enough to deny life changing care?
Doctors first must do no harm and the risk of her dying after transplant with covid is much higher compared to risk of dying with covid on dialysis. Before requiring this person be immunocompromised for the remainder of her life the surgeons have to make sure her risk is as low as possible. They require all vaccines that are acip recommended be up to date prior to kidney transplant.
And while vaccinated transplant recipients respond less to vaccination compared to the general population with 2 doses it still has been shown especially with the boosters in being effective.

Here is a good review article on issues surrounding covid vaccination in kidney transplant recipients and the need for pretransplant vaccination eval and boosters to those already vaccinated.

COVID-19 live updates: More Americans died of COVID this year than all of 2020

After the vaccine, those deaths were by choice when they refused to get one.

And of those who died how many were unvaccinated?!

Because the U.S. has made getting the vaccine political… look at yourselves in the mirror vs the rest of the world. Wakey wakey…
Didn’t you literally just post something about Lindsey Graham telling people to get vaccinated? Is that considered making the vaccine political?

Typical antivax comment….

Stop Gaslighting, it’s not working.

The truth is….
More Americans have chosen to die from COVID under Joe Biden’s watch in 2021 than in President Trump’s America in 2020 when there was no choice.

These people are simply evil. There absolutely is no other word to describe these people. If this woman dies because of the fact that she was taken off of the waiting list these people will will one day stand before God and be judged as the murderers that they are. It's that simple.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — An El Paso County woman says she won’t be able to get a kidney transplant through UCHealth because she’s not vaccinated against COVID-19.

Leilani Lutali learned of this after receiving a letter, dated Sept. 28, from the UCHealth Transplant Center at its Anschutz Medical Campus:

“I feel coerced. I feel like my life is being held in their hands in exchange for a shot, and the attitude is just take the shot,” Lutali told Denver7’s sister station KOAA Tuesday.

The letter has gotten a lot of attention, including from State Rep. Tim Geitner, a Republican serving El Paso County.

“The understanding is basically… conform to this demand. Take this COVID vaccine or otherwise you will be denied a life-saving procedure,” he said Tuesday.
