Vaccine or not?

Almost no one is wearing a mask around here these days. We went to see Tran Siberian Orchestra Sunday, sold out, and I probably didn't see more than 4 or 5 masks.

Yep it’s the same here some employees were and a couple of shoppers but the rest were unmasked

It is great. I don't know if you saw them this year, but they played Christmas Eve and Other Stories from beginning to end.
And then they played about 10 more songs.
They sell out 6 shows in Atlanta every year.

I’d like to see it but they will make me take my cap off and wear pants and stuff

The Atlantic's David Frum doubles down on claim that unvaccinated should be treated last in hospitals on CNN

The Atlantic's David Frum continued to push for hospitals and doctors to treat unvaccinated patients last during his appearance on CNN on Wednesday.

Got to run cover somehow since they're heavily implicated in Ghislane Maxwell's shenanigans.

Two shots and four boosters to deal with a virus variant are totally normal you idiots!
Well I didn't call anyone an idiot. Nor did I disparage those who didn't get the vaccine. But I did point out that there are many vaccines that require multiple doses. If that bothers you then blame reality.

Sure, for malaria and rabies and vicious illnesses. If you want to keep pretending that "reality" is pretending that this many "boosters" in an abbreviated timeframe is normal, then go on ahead. It's pure foolishness.

NB: many vaccines require boosters due to the immaturity of the immune system when they are given (the vulnerable early months of life). Pertussis immunity does wane over time (c 10 years), influenza wanes and changes strains, and older adults and the immunocompromised will benefit from strep pneumo "boosters" (now given to infants).

If doctors were going on Sesame St to sell aderrall to your kids wouldn’t we all take issue with that?

What if they advertised for aderall without ever mentioning the side effects?

This seems to be the insane world we now live in with vaccines

Have you opened a magazine or watched tv in the past decade or so? Pharma adverts have become a bloody nuisance. You can't escape them.

Thank you for reminding me to take my Chromecast with me to Tennessee next week.

And they all end with a list of side effects. How often have you heard any honest conversation about the Covid vaccine side effects?

I’ve also never seen any pharmaceutical company go on Sesame St

Sesame Street has been carried by entities that don't do commercials, thank goodness.

And seeing as how I don't do non streaming television, I haven't seen any ads for the vaccines to know either way. My doctor has been straightforward with me, though.

That makes it worse, not better that Sesame St doesn’t do commercials but allows people to come on to push vaccines towards kids.

Here’s a vaccine commercial. Do you see anything about side effects?

No, and that's legal. If it were pushing a specific brand or formulation, then side effects would be required.

And legal doesn't mean right. The nurse giving me my shots took care of the side effect spiel.

So we agree this is unethical?

I would have to see the segment in question to make that determination.

So to be clear you have no issue with the first commercial and it not mentioning anything about adverse side effects?

Here’s the Sesame St clip

That doesn't qualify as a commercial. It is not unethical.

The Sesame Street spot is also not unethical. I would have approached it differently (you can definitely see where HBO has changed it since acquiring it from PBS) but it does not violate the letter or spirit of law.
