LOL, that's actually funny. If you read the article, it actually makes a very strong case for natural immunity.
Studies do show that when people survive COVID, many of them develop robust immunity against reinfection or serious disease. Sometimes that immunity is stronger than vaccine-induced immunity, depending on the person and the degree of vaccination.
a study in Scotland confirmed that this principle applies to COVID. It found that “immunity from natural infection (without vaccination) is more protective than two doses of vaccine
“She went for it. She was supposed to stay away from us, but she decided to remain at home with us normally, preferring to go through the disease than to get vaccinated. It is sad that my mom trusted strangers more than her own family.”
That goes for pretty much any disease ever. But for some reason this one has to be treated differently.“She went for it. She was supposed to stay away from us, but she decided to remain at home with us normally, preferring to go through the disease than to get vaccinated. It is sad that my mom trusted strangers more than her own family.”
Unfortunate, but this is a problem with generalizing with a deadly disease... It doesn't affect everyone the same was... If a world-class tennis player gets it and recovers without trouble (for instance) that doesn't necessarily mean the same will be true for a 57 year old lady.
Getting this crap at work, too. So, in order to keep everyone safe, schools are telling sick kids they have to get out and go to an office around other people for the EXACT SAME TEST that is available at home.Place I work at won't accept an at home test result Joe needs to make an EO
I'd like to note that that particular stupidity is present in other parts of the world too. We had to go pay a nurse to give my wife a rapid test that we could've bought at the pharmacy before her other test today. Hilarious.Getting this crap at work, too. So, in order to keep everyone safe, schools are telling sick kids they have to get out and go to an office around other people for the EXACT SAME TEST that is available at home.
Nothing surprises me, at this point.
Natural immunity is irrelevant to the Omni variant.Natural immunity is better when the shot they’re offering isn’t a vaccine.
Natural immunity is irrelevant to the Omni variant.
My unvaccinated very healthy 26 year old has Covid right now …..for the 2nd time. My unvaccinated neighbor has it for the 3rd time. The vaccine doesn’t work vs this variant and neither does natural immunity. According to Mayo but what do they know.
The bajillion dollar question. The idiots at the CDC butchered their estimates around omicron. The truth is nobody actually knows unless they go get their illness sequenced and nobody is doing that.I wasn’t arguing variants. If nothing works against omnicron I’m not sure what you’re arguing. How does everyone know the variant they’re infected with?
My boosted Mom had fever and headaches for days..could not get tested and after a week she recovered with no symptoms and finally tested and was negative. Gotta admit I was rather mad she did not even let me know she was ill.
The point is that nobody is really talking about natural immunity anymore like it’s some trump card. It was a Fing stupid comparison to begin with.I wasn’t arguing variants. If nothing works against omnicron I’m not sure what you’re arguing. How does everyone know the variant they’re infected with?
