I sure am glad we're spending a bajillion dollars developing an Omicron shot since it will have completely run its course long before the shot is available.
That’s a sharp drop and it looks like it’s happening way faster this round. Good sign.View attachment 430662
It's already happening, honey.
Hospital communication had indicated that most expected a precipitous decline by the 4th week of January and a rapid fall to low-level endemic spread. ICU admits continue to fall, despite the high case numbers. Statewide admits have plateaued. Looks like the end of Omicron is in close sight. That’s a sharp drop and it looks like it’s happening way faster this round. Good sign.
Here we go again(1) omicron largely evades the current vaccine, at least with respect to preventing infection (the vaccine, based on the original strain, is still good for preventing hospitalization and death, especially when folks are boosted)
(2) omicron has almost completely supplanted Delta and the other variants. This will only become more pronounced as omicron continues spreading.
(3) given omicron's global dominance, any future variant will likely evolve from omicron.
(4) accordingly, a vaccine based on omicron seems like a smart idea.
Or are you saying we're on the verge of herd immunity and need no vaccine update? I seem to recall this argument from somewhere. Can you help a sister remember who made this argument?
Wow that looks just like Texas! Crazy how both states made this up it looks too similarView attachment 430662

Only if they develop it. Our government hates crypto currency because it's hard to control. Holders of crypto can burn the supply in many cases. I'd say digital currency as it stands now, scares them. This is what they will be able to do when we transition to the digital dollar. They will just shut off or freeze accounts of those that push back against them.
But the digital currency they'd deploy would be the opposite of crypto. It would be fully tracked, and I am sure that there would be a push to totally ban crypto trade.Only if they develop it. Think that $600 IRS deal was too much? Wait til there's automated checking on every cent you spend or receive.Digital currency is a bureaucrat’s wet dream.
Incorrect.
They don't like crypto as it is now. A fed-issued conversion of paper money (hard to trace) to digital currency (totally tracked, not on some anonymous blockchain) is what they're studying to do as we speak.
Yes, and that's why I say the government doesn't "detest" digital currency, just crypto (digital currency =/ crypto). Digital currency is, as @DC_Vol said, their wet dream.Crypto and digital currency that would be developed by our government would be like comparing apples to oranges.
Fair enough. Our government hates a financially independent populous. They will do anything possible to ensure all stay as poor as possible.Yes, and that's why I say the government doesn't "detest" digital currency, just crypto (digital currency =/ crypto).
