Vaccine or not?

Seems like there may be some correlation between getting vaxxed and boosted and doing better against omicron.

But I'm sure these other countries' morgues are filled with young men dying from myocarditis.

Answer an honest question(s), why is Pfizer in the midst of crafting an omicron specific vaccine that they hope to bring to market by March if the original is so “effective” against Omicron? Who would line up to take another shot with 5 months, tops, worth of evaluation behind it (seeing as how we discovered omicron like 2 months ago)?

Not necessarily. How long was polio around and how weak did it get? Same for ebola, HIV, etc.
The jabs are effective against hospitalization with omicron. Better to get the jabs than the bug.
You're comparing apples to oranges bringing up those diseases. List them again, including covid, and put the corresponding mortality rate next to each.

I was replying to an assertion that viruses become less dangerous over time. Viruses are viruses so apples to apples. Mortality rates are not relevant to the comment.

Oh, I am worse than the people who say the immunocompromised should stay home so you guys don't have to wear masks? You guys are so selective in your moral outrage.

If you're stupid enough to not get vaxxed, you deserve what you get.

12 quotes, a new personal record. Guess I hit a nerve with you knuckle-draggers.
Covid was so bad and beat me down so hard that my first day out of quarantine I woke up at 6 am and drove 4 hrs to Knoxville for the Ole Miss game and drank myself into such an oblivion I “might” have even thrown an empty airplane bottle towards Shields-Watkins Field. I likely killed all the fans around me too; but no worries they were all Ole Miss fans so we’re good.

Someone once tried to argue on here why the vaccine should be mandatory, using the fact that we still require Tetanus shots and how “deadly” is Tetanus. Well Tetanus has a mortality rate as “low” as 6% in mild to moderate cases and as high as 60% in avert cases. 50% of cases occur in children under 5. 6% alone is enough to justify having my 4 yr old vaccinated against Tetanus. Contrast that with his Covid odds around 0.005%.

Having a 30% chance of dying from contracting measles and a 0.5% chance of dying (rough avg. over ALL age groups) from Covid are irrelevant?

My theory is that they are worried that eventually the whole "FDA Approved vaccine isn't available" thing will come to light, so they need a new EUA version that won't have an alternative.

Won’t be available because it’s not working and they pull the plug on it? Like MCA’s this week?

Sure it is. When you have a .02% chance of dying getting a shot for it is asinine.
The shot's free and gives you a much lower risk of death or serious sickness. What are the mortality and hospitalization rates for unvaccinated people who catch it? Those hospital bills are wicked and long COVID is a bitch.

Long Covid is exaggerated and ask the follow up question about unvaccinated hospitalizations; what are their overall health conditions prior to Covid or regardless of vaccination status?

Exaggerated or not, it's real. I know a guy who's been in a wheelchair four months from it, and he was in good shape before.

Wow, anecdotes. There are people suffering serious side effects from the vaccines, and they were perfectly fine before. Exaggerated or not, it’s real. See how easy that is?
Anecdotes, personal experience, data, it's all part of it. Do you know anyone with a bad vaccine reaction? I don't but I know there are some. But there are far far fewer people with serious vaccine side effects than with serious covid effects.

God bless these brave capitalist women...

Slave on slave aggression...

Now keep in mind that this is the same jurisdiction that has been releasing violent criminals, but they are going to bring the full weight of the law down on these non-violent, victimless offenders.

NYC has been off the chain the past few years, yet this is worthy of having undercover cops tracking down? There aren't any killers or thieves they need to be catching or cold cases that need solving?

What’s wrong with wanting to identify as vaccinated?

I had alpha and omnicron. The last time I went to the hospital was to visit a friend (not Covid related).

I know my household is all unvaccinated. Me, my wife, and kids all caught Covid for the first time early this month and got over it with zero issues. Same as my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, etc.
I know of some in my wife’s family who have lived life the past few years almost worshipping their masks. They wear them everywhere nonstop, in their cars, outside, and make sure to take pictures of themselves doing it to post all over Facebook and the likes. They and their young children are all vaccinated fully, and they’ve had Covid more than any of us, same symptoms, etc.
Like you said, data is worth looking at and that’s why we chose to not get vaccinated. Take a look at the data and tell me children in general need this vaccine. Or even healthy adults. But I don’t care what decision people make, I want people to choose for themselves.

I'm glad you're well.

Appreciate it. I also have friends and even my son who is vaccinated. My son had a bout with Covid far worse than either of my cases. Girlfriend had it twice as well as a lot of people we know. Just about everyone I know has had it at least once. Only death I’ve heard of was from a an old co-worker in her 60s that wasn’t very healthy to begin with.

Personally, I know two women (one being my wife) with serious lasting effects on their reproductive cycle. Thankfully, both have already had the children they desired. Nobody I know has any "lasting" effects of CV. Additionally, not a single child of the probably 1,500 that we've cared for in my office has had a negative outcome from CV infection.
