Vaccine or not?

My Dad was a Navy fighter pilot, a Top Gun, so I was raised in a Military family probably a much different enviorment
than some.

Norfolk here , that “ different environment “ doesn’t mean that we blindly trust the government by any means . Just stating a fact .

I read a study that Britian concerning miscarriages from the vaccine. this was in the early stages of the vaccine and there was an over 200% increase in 0 miscarriages. So there are more than one study concerning this. And I wasn't in some race to post "false" information, don't be a d-bag.
Wasn't being a d-bag. That was posted in the yikes thread and immediately shown to be false and the actual data showed no changes.

I was in the military and don't trust the government for chit. Don't know too many vets that do.

Grandfather - North Africa Campaign, and Ardennes Offensive . Uncle-tunnel rat in Vietnam . Both had pretty chest candy , both had way more of a distrust for their government than I ever could . I’ll take them at their word .

THAILAND – A new study released out of Thailand has revealed that a startling percentage of young adults who received the Covid jab now have “cardiovascular injuries.”

The study ultimately included a total of 301 students from two schools, ages 13-18, who received a second dose of the shot (BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 “vaccine,” which is the Pfizer shot). Of those, a whopping 29.24% of them had “cardiovascular effects” from the shot, “ranging from tachycardia, palpitation, and myopericarditis.”

I don't care who gets the shot or who doesn't. My only point in answer to your original question is that this thread has been the same people saying the same thing for months. People lose interest over time.
I would say it’s multifactorial.

For those that got the vaccine, it’s an irrevocable choice and the decline in severity provides passive affirmation and less incentive to argue. Essentially, those people have mostly moved on.

Most of the people still active made a revocable choice and I’m sure that plays some part, psychologically, in why they’re still active here.

It probably also contributes to the appearance of motivated reasoning, which just furthers the gulf between persuadable and persuasive.

This thread is probably a model for how a lot of topics on this forum should be but the sports fan/religion aspect of political parties won’t allow partisans to ignore slights against their team’s guy.

2 grandfathers, 2 uncles, 1 cousin - all Navy.

Sounds like mine had a similar experience to yours.

Most of my knowledge of the service comes from my grandmother after they both past, and from their discharge papers . They weren’t big talkers ( understatement) Lol
My paternal grandmother kept all the letters my grandfather wrote her. I remember her reading them to us and the postage on the envelopes (strange what we remember sometimes).

That's what is called a sheep
You don't want the shot, don't get the shot. It doesn't make me a sheep because I consulted with my physician and followed his recommendation based on an existing medical condition. You're no different than the people runnning around telling everybody to get vaxed, who you hate so much.

I feel like I should have been laying down on a couch reading that and now somehow owe you money . Not even sure if I’m supposed to disagree because you used big words or agree because you said sports .

Since everyone is bragging about their lineage of military service.... 2 grandfathers WWI vets, dad and 3 uncles WWII vets, one uncle was shot down and spent 2 years in Stalag 17. Dad served in Korea, dad and brother served in Vietnam. Nephew served in Iraq. Son in-law served in Afghanistan. I didn't serve anywhere other than being a military brat. My family earned its keep.

That’s some history right there ! The first house I bought was right next door to a WW1 vet , he was a living treasure full of stories . Can’t prove anything he told me was true but I don’t even care they were all great and I ate the up as fast as he was willing to share them .

My maternal grandfather was a photographer in the seat of a bi-plane and had hundreds of pictures from flying over Europe during the war. He was a crusty old fart and I know where I got my temperment from.

I was pro- vaccine. Now....I'm not so sure.
I've gotten the series plus 2 boosters, and I'm just now recovering from my 3rd bout with Covid-19 🙄.

I've been sick for 6 days...

If you don't want to get it and can afford not to, then do what you think is best.

Hope you mend up good sir.

There are a couple of studies that indicate that when you get to your 3rd shot especially you get negative effectiveness. Your immune system is suppressed from having to respond to the vaccines over and over. This would lower your immunity to all viruses and bacterial infections as well as cancer.

It really looks like everything else. You can't keep doing something dramatic to your body and not give it a break without negative consequences. You can't smoke for long periods of time, You can't drink large amounts of liquor or do hard drugs everyday for long periods of time, you can't take steroids for long periods of time....ect. I myself am not vaxxed, and had the terrible Delta variant last year. Was quite ill for 10 days, and my smell is just now back to 100 percent. Had the latest variant about 3 weeks ago and is was basically a minor cold for 4 days with a moderate fever then it was gone. I expect to catch another variant or two over the years until my body has seen enough to have general immunity. Part of being human I suppose.

I’m not vaccinated or ventilated. And I work in healthcare and have been knee deep in this for 2 years. The worst thing about all this has been knowing about virology and the mistakes that have occurred in the handling of this. The best thing that could have happened was to get back to the basics but the country went in the opposite direction. The uninformed public have no idea how they have been played.
100%.

I'll add that BY FAR the worst effects I've seen in children are the heartbreaking cases of isolation, educational deprivation, anxiety, depression, and suicide.

I would testify under oath tomorrow that policy makers should be held responsible for child abuse.

To the military families: much respect to you all. My granddaddy was a WW2 south pacific Cheif Gunners Mate on the USS South Dakota. Best man I've ever known, and the reason I'm sitting here watching the Braves and missing him. My uncle suffered from severe PTSD after Vietnam, but he's really done well in the past 15 years: moved back from Alaska isolation, remarried, and loves to fish and hunt. Whatever he saw and did messed him up real bad for a long, long time .

Here's Granddad's flag and Salute brass:

I agree 100%! It is absolutley mind blowing that places like Philadelphia are still placing mandatory mask policies on all kids attending public schools. Simply put, these people are evil and they need to be held responsible. I'm thinking bring back the Nuremberg Trials. It's time to quit being a bunch of freaking pansies and call out evil for what it is.
