as do I. It's inexplicable. Must be a jingoistic thing, 'cause I can't imagine doing anything with it aside from USA rooting.
I'm trying to figure out the strategy as well. Some of the plays absolutely baffle me.I get buried in trying to figure out the strategy of it. It's clear that there are about two or three layers underneath the obvious stuff that the casual viewer only has a hint of. I'll watch it even when the US isn't playing.
Aside from the fact that both US teams apparently suck this year, the biggest disappointment so far is that the skip of the US women's team is, while a nice average-looking woman, a big regression from the chick we had slinging the stones in Turin. I miss her.

I have been into it for the past 3 winter Olympics. I think it must be the mixture of skill and strategy that appeals to me.
If they wanted to get ratings they could always make the sport more physical, nothing adds drama like the possibility of watching an opposing player brained with a 85 pound rock.
The Whistler-Blackcombe resort, where the Alpine events such as snowboarding and ski-jumping are being held, could go into foreclosure this week, smack dab in the middle of the Olympics, and be owned in part by the now defunct Lehman Brothers, one of its creditors.
