Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics thread

The women's team appears to my inexpert eye to be more unlucky than anything. But the men are 0-4 because Shuster keeps gagging. It's not just the four failures on the last rock -- he's having consistent trouble making any of his shots.

Since the whole team is Shuster's team, I doubt there's any mechanism for demoting him, but there needs to be.

yea, had a chance for 4 this afternoon on one shot and he ended up with 1. then he threw his blocker way too heavy, opening up a lane for the other team to breeze right through knocking his stone outta there.

Apparently Vonn wiped out in the Slalom part of the women's super combined. She was in first after the downhill portion.

Every Olympics, I about decide that I've got the curling strategy pretty much figured out about the end of the tournament, and then it's over and I don't see it again for four years. And then I have to start all over.

In the very first end of the very first telecast the other day, the color guy said something like, "If you can't throw a draw to the four-foot circle pretty much any time you need to, then you can't win." And neither US team has a skip who can do that.

Since Americans don't curl, I have to assume those are paid olympics vacation contest winners.

I have decided to use the skating rink in town to begin my mission of leading USA curling to glory. I'm shooting for a "Kelly's Heroes" kind of dynamic.

That's what I've been wondering. How many people actually curl in the US? What are the odds of making the team. Maybe I should begin my training.

There's a curling club in Knoxville where supposedly anybody can go try it out. They curl at the Ice Chalet. Some of you guys who live in town ought to give it a shot.

they said earlier appx 15,000. Which statistically gived me a better chance of making the team than any other event.

I imagine I'd attend and instantly hurt feelings with my insane skills.

Shout out to Denmark's team, their uniforms stomp all over the US's.

Men's figure skating or women's ice hockey....great choices.

Too bad they aren't on the same ice at the same time.
