Technically, Vandy is the only rivalry game we play where we are the other teams biggest rival. Bama has Auburn and perhaps LSU to the younger gen, Florida has Georgia, Miami and Florida St and Georgia has Florida and Tech.
Maybe SCjr?
If Mizzou can win the East anyone can. There's 3 or 4 teams that have a shot at winning the East every year.
Tennessee isn't in the top 4 right now and Vandy is.
See, this is why I've come to dislike Vandy so much. Not because they're a threat, a rival or remotely relevant in the SEC because they're not.
Talking smack about a Missouri program that has around 70 more all time wins, a better all time winning %, and who beat the ever living crap out of Vandy @ Vandy's middle school stadium this year.
You have no ground to stand on, your program hasn't earned you the right to spew the smack talk and arrogance that you guys walk around with.
In the last 10 years Missouri has three 8 win seasons, and a 10, 11 and 12 win season. What has Vandy done by comparison? 3 winning seasons in 10 years.... 7 wins, 8 wins and 9 wins..... sprinkle in a few 2 win seasons and there you have it.
Vanderbilt will not and cannot win the the SEC East. That was your original topic. Not whether or not they can finish in the top 4 when UT, Florida and Georgia are down/having off years.
The last 10 years of UT football have been difficult... yet UT has 2 SEC East championships the last 10 years (3 in the last 11 yrs, 4 in the last 13).
And as you know buddy, the 2 year Vandy "heyday" is coming to an end... as is UT's being a non-factor in the SEC championship race.
For someone who brags about how smart they are in every thread, this post makes no sense...
What does any of that have to do with my post? I simply stated that Vandy is a rivalry.
Vandy will keep rolling as long as Franklin is there. UT is at least 2 years away from being a factor. Just my opinion but I think they're in for another losing season in 14. CBJ will be on the hot seat and have to win at least 8 games in 15 to keep his job. That's if UT keeps doing business as usual.
I'm not talking smack about Mizzou and I've given them more credit than probably anyone on volnation. Mizzou was given no respect when they came into the SEC. After they beat Vandy this year I predicted they would win the East and it happened. Mizzou supposedly doesn't have SEC talent on the field and look what they did. Vandy's record over the last 3 years speaks for itself. They've drastically changed their position and things are looking even better for the future. It's not smack talk to be proud of my team when their breaking 100 year old records.
Not that it really matters but my post was in response to you comment 'that tells you all you need to know'.....again it doesn't really matter because I think you just might be feeling a little left out or inferior....maybe frustrated....and given your past which I know you've worked hard to overcome and given the time of year it is I can understand...so relax and enjoy the holidays...I'll try to be a bit moire mindful of your situation and ask others to do so as well...
Sucky as their football and men's basketball are, their baseball, womens basketball, and some of the other lesser followed sports have actually done fairly well over the years.
The men's basketball were SEC tourney champs 2 years ago. How many SEC championships has UT won lately?
That's all you got? They won a tournament?
Let's consider since 2000, a nice round number and a fairly short 14 year period, "lately"..... shall we?
Since 2000, I got UT Men's basketball 2 Regular season SEC Championships, 8 NCAA tournament appearances, 4 Sweet 16s and an Elite 8.
Since you brought up the Vandy Men's basketball program, feel free to compare....
0 Regular season SEC Championships, 1SEC Tourney Championship, 6 NCAA tourney appearances, 2 Sweet 16s and 0 Elite 8s..... and Vandy is considered a basketball school if anything.
Since 2000, I got UT Women's basketball with 9 Reg Season SEC Championships, 7 conf tourney championships, 14 NCAA tourneys, 12 NCAA Sweet 16s, 7 NCAA Final Fours, 5 NCAA Tourney Championship game appearances and 2 NCAA Tourney National Championships.
I'll spare you the Lady Commodores comparison.... it's not pretty.
Since 2000, which has not been a particularly good period for UT football to say the least, I got a 104-72 record (vs Vandy's 59-108), 4 SEC East "division championships" (vs Vandy's 0), 5 bowl games (vs Vandy's 4) ....and I got a head to head record vs Vandy during an overall low period for UT football and the "heyday" period for Vandy football, of 11-3.
Of course, if you wanna consider "lately" going back to say 1990 or so ......
Why do I think you want to consider "lately" since 2011? I will admit that Vandy has an outstanding baseball program, Coach Corbin has done a great job with the program although he hasn't had much success doing anything in Okla City. Sent my son to his baseball camp a few years back.... great guy.
And Vandy did win a natty in women's bowling, so there's that.

U really hate U some Vandy! I was talking about men's hoops and the last 3-5 years. History means absolutely nothing past that time frame in any sport.
