Vandy's a good team and coached by a good coach

We may spot them the ball 4 times deep inside our own territory like Florida did, but I doubt it.

And if we don't, we will beat them. They are much better than they used to be, but nowhere near the caliber of bammer, Mizzou or Auburn. Or USCe, for that matter....
We haven't played smart here lately. We may very well help them out. We can't do that and expect to beat anyone..

I'll try to explain the Vandy Lovers logic on here, they beat FL who beat us and GA and GA beat everyone by Mizzou so therefore they have "arrived" but we beat SC who beat the "arrived" Vanderbilt. This is why we play the game because anyone can lose on any given day.

Vandy's All-time record 574–580–50 (.498).
MTSU's All-time record 500–358–28 (.580).
UT's All-time record 803–360–53 (.682).

That's exactly my point Vandy fans think that they have "arrived". Arrived to what mediocrity? The teams that they have beaten are so depleted due to injury that an asterisk should be put right beside the W in the win column for Vanderbilt.

The same could be said for our USCjr win I mean we knocked out Shaw who was running all over us but what matters is what the scoreboard says when it's all 0s on the clock. I'll give them credit Franklin has done more with Vandy than their previous coaches the past few years but until they beat GA FL USC on a regular basis them they have not arrived.

The Florida win especially. Do you realize that Vandy only had like 185 total yards on offense? 4 turnovers in the redzone by a TERRIBLE and injury riddled UF team. I would have to agree that the jury is still out on this Vandy team.

Only difference the USCjr win for us and the wins for Vandy, is that we injured Shaw not some team in a previous game. Florida and Georgia were depleted when Vanderbilt University of Battered Women (too soon?) played them. We caused an injury that won us a game, they were handed injury riddled teams to beat.

At least they were able to take advantage of the turnovers. Florida all but begged us to beat them and we couldn't do it.

Couldn't do it. that is the key.

People like to hate on Vandy, but they beat two teams that we haven't beaten consistently in years.

Will not disagree with that. Not even certain we will beat Vandy. But I do feel like we should, and that is why we play the games. I surely don't feel like Vandy has any reason to feel that their season is so superior to ours that they should be looking at us as an "easy" win. Of course I'm jaded because I really hate those f***ers! haha!

Thought that would never come out of my mouth but Vandy and MTSU have better records and as far as coaches yet to be determined.:whistling:

The first signs of a loser:

1) Blame somebody else for your failures
2) Start making up reasons to convince yourself that other winners are actually losers (for whatever reason) so you will feel better about yourself.

Which really means nothing

Its what we have done and what they have done lately that matters

Actually, I think it does mean something that Tennessee is perceived as a historically strong program and Vanderbilt is perceived as weak...That perception combined with greater facilities and an actual fan base is why Tennessee is kicking Vandy's butt right now for middle Tennessee recruits...Derek Barnett was a top priority of Franklin's and he committed to Tennessee the week after his OV there...Vandy's "success" is unsustainable because even at their height they can't land 4* recruits in their own backyard.

This truth won't go over well.

These excuses are all headed your way...

UT has no talent
UT has no speed
CBJ should be given three presidential terms to right the ship
Disregard what Auburn, Missouri, and Even Ole Miss has done in short time.
It's Dooley's fault
Kiffin too
Dammit Phil
Sadly there is a lot of truth in that post.

How many scholarship athletes were here when Kiffin took over? No idea off the top of my head but it was way down. I remember him mentioning that when talking about starting a few undersized, walk on OLinemen that year.

How many recruits stuck around a full four years out of Kiffin's only recruiting class? I believe that number is zero.

We all know how Dooley recruited also.

So you have mediocre recruiting when compared to your conference peers, super high attrition rate, and multiple changes in offensive/defensive philosophy. Those aren't excuses, those are facts.

It won't mean crap at kickoff though

History and facilities will only take you so far. We saw that with the last staff. Its funny that Dooley's best class was his first one. I guess as the recruits saw how he managed a game and it didn't improve, all the salesman crap didn't work anymore

Same thing will happen to Butch. No improvement and all the talk in the world and Brick by Brick won't fight the results shown on the scoreboard

Right now, the results are the same on the field but the recruiting is miles ahead of what we have seen. Hopefully the results will follow

Slow your roll, should I say troll, there young un. Matthews is a very good WR, certainly Vandy's all time best just ahead of Earl Bennett and perhaps the best SEC WR THIS YEAR.

But greatest all time SEC WR??? Not.Remotely. Close. I'll spare you the embarrassment of the very long, expansive list.

He's not even the best receiver in the SEC. Mike Evans.

Dooley had a lot of problems with the inability to hold a staff together chief among them and based on the feedback we have had from HS coaches and in state recruits he really wasn't a salesman at all...Anyway, my point was about Vanderbilt and how even at height of their success they still didn't even get a 2nd look from Jalen Hurd, Rashaan Gaulden or Josh Malone.

If Vandy can run the QB, we lose

Jancek can't put in a package to stop it

Jancek should of never been hired. He will try to cover the Matthews one on one and he will never put a spy on the QB , so if he wants to run he will run all he wants.
