No, if you place a bet on Tenn +8 Tenn can lose by 7 and you still win the bet. Tenn does not have to win the game. Poor guy is gonna rip up a winning ticket lol.

Tell me how a team that averages 49 points a game, has one of the top rushing defenses in the nation and is going against a QB that averages slightly over 1 passing TD a game are 8 point underdogs?!?!

All this can be based on is the games of the past few years along with UGA playing at home.

Georgia still has a very good defense and on offense they protect their QB and their TEs are hard to contain. I think the prediction is somewhat based on last year but also the fact that they have a better defense than the teams we’ve played so they’ll hold us to the mid-30s. I think we win but it’s going to be a hard fought game into the 4th quarter.

Spread is only to break even on the betting lines....betters move the line, that is all.

Clearly Vegas understands Vols are the hottest commodity. Yet they feel Georgia is the team that should win this game. They started the line above 11 knowing the National attention Tennessee has gotten that bettors will bet vols and pull it in. Thats what I have pointed out as making me nervous too. Home field is usually 3.5 to 6.5 usually in the 3 range for comparable opponents so that leads me to believe they feel we loose this game by fg and a td. The public on the other hand expects it to be closer or an outright victory.

Since playoff rankings announced its been nauseating hearing people say Georgia will upset us they don't understand that the playoff rankings is validation of accomplishments this far and that the betting line is the actual favorite. If Georgia wins its what is expected. Tennessee winning would be the upset.

In the last day, more money has been laid on GA than on Vols. Made the line go the other way. They don't want to get too far over weighted on either side.

This is what stresses me out though. They are heavily weighted on Tennessee to cover. They are more than happy for all the money to come in on Tennessee right now.

I don’t like that at all.

Always a concern when playing against the media darlings for so many years, but ALA saw yellow flags falling from the sky in their sleep the night we beat them, and that never happens. I don’t think GA has gotten the calls that ALA has over the years either. Maybe things are shifting and we have hope again that it’s not always 2 on 1 (opponent and refs) when any team plays those perineal top 5 teams.
