Godley pitched well. Lifted for pitch hitter after 6, winning 4-3. Had a no hitter for 3 innings. I think he is solid 5th starter.

Looked completely dominant through 4.

He's had some inconsistency in the 5th and 6th. Today was no different.

Current ERA is 2.39 in 37.2 IP.

Godley was optioned back to Reno on Thursday with an ERA of 2.39. 37.7 IP on 6 starts.

He deserves better.

This one shocked me. I was looking for his next scheduled start when I saw the transaction. A story says they needed to bolster the pen after the 11 inning game. He has the lowest ERA in the rotation. I'd go so far as to say he's due a tough start and still deserves to stay.

I wonder if the rules allow for him to go down a few days and come back up for his regular start

Here's an update, Bruin. DBacks called up Braden Shipley this morning from Reno to take Godley's spot in the rotation. He's given up 3 runs in the first 2 innings.

The baseball gods didn't like the DBacks move either.

This has got to be annoying to Godley. I know that much is based upon the fact that the club can still move him up and down without dealing with waivers, etc, but it stinks. It also costs him serious money. He has proven he can pitch in this league. I know a bunch of teams would love to have him in their rotation.

Because of an injury, the Diamondbacks were able to avoid the 10 day wait and recall Godley from the minor leagues. Looks like he will start this Saturday. He must feel like a yo-yo. They sent Braden Shipley back to AAA.

Godley got the win yesterday in a 3-2 game against the red hot Brewers.
Final line on Godley:

ER 2

BB 1

Current ERA is 2.44 on 44.1 IP. 7 games played with 36 SO.

He also provided the game winning RBI. If you haven't had the opportunity to watch him pitch this year, try to do it. He's just a lot of fun to watch.

Senzel had a huge day yesterday. Four extra base hits. Three doubles and a triple with 4 RBIs. ��
That brings his average to .313 on the season.

It sux but he is vulnerable to it. He has options remaining.
Tiajuan Walker and Randall Delgado are having ok success but neither have options remaining. Walker should be off of DL shortly.

Walker has an ERA of 3.46 and Delgado of 3.66. Neither are better than Godley but neither are bad. They don't want to risk waivers for either at this point in the season. Hopefully they move Delgado back to the pen. He's had good success there.

The great thing is that Godley's performance is going to make it very difficult to send him down. He's pitched several gems and yesterday was one of them.

Any idea if he is definitely a part of their future plans or might they consider trading him if they fall out of playoff contention before the deadline?

I'd be shocked if they let him go. His performance vs his cost makes him a great value. I think it would be more likely that one of the guys he's outperforming without options goes away.

Walker will return for his start on Wednesday. Either Godley or Delgado will go to the pen. Hope it's Delgado. Godley is in the groove right now.

Godley got the mound against the Phillies yesterday. He struck out the first four batters he faced in another great start.

He came out with the game tied at 1 so it was a no decision for him. Also of note, the game was delayed about an hour for rain after he had started warming up.
