Vitello suspended.

So, a well respected poster in the recruting forum, who has ties to the university and knows things was asked about Vitello earlier today, this is his response.
"There will be more-- some UT self-imposed; some negotiated with NCAA. Not sure how much UT will release, but statements will go through legal. The whole thing is galling."
pftttt. yeah, we are the team with Maurice Couch, who NCAA declared permanently ineligible. He took some money to feed his family. Meanwhile Bama cheers on an accessory to murder being introduced with player patting him down. Blah blah blah... NCAA has no say over teams playing rapists and murderers? Then they should have no say at all.

I looked in that forum and saw football recruiting info. What’s the thread about CTV?

He's not getting fired for minor violations. But he's going to have to be mindful of the scrutiny he's under and the scrutiny the team is under. It's unfathomable how UT baseball has gotten under people's skin. Every little thing will get reported. Everything. And the NCAA is already up in UT's business.

You misunderstood-- or perhaps I was unclear. It's galling that so much is being made over minor violations that are common. Tony's a great guy and UT baseball is a clean program with good kids, who're active in the community and strong academically. UT self-reports and self-imposes everything above and beyond what the NCAA imposes. Heaven help us if a UT baseball player is ever arrested... or takes a weapon to the scene of a murder.

The Sports Source putting their two cents worth in on Vitello . Bob Hodge the duck hunter is worried him and Pennington are Debbie downers always pissing and moaning about everything

The more I reflect on this, the more I think TN mishandled this situation. From a PR perspective they went with a classic Friday afternoon news drop, hoping it would get buried in the weekend news (and that may be true nationally) but it’s allowed for rampant speculation all weekend with rivals just sitting there laughing and throwing comments at us. I wish instead of saying “we will discuss it Monday” they had discussed it Friday.

I don’t listen to anything Bob says unrelated to lake levels and what fish are biting. Nobody that spends that much time hunting and fishing is going to have time to say anything substantive on fall and spring sports.

Arkansas lost to Eastern Illinois. Laugh it up pigs 🤣

Here’s what I do not understand. You have schools like LSU, Kansas, UNC, and others who flip the proverbial bird to the NCAA sand nothing really happen. Tennessee tries to be open about cutting their own throats and keeps getting kicked around by the NCAA. Maybe it’s time to stop playing the nice guy and grow a backbone for a change.

or just quit knowingly breaking NCAA rules. By most accounts, this wound was self inflicted. They KNEW they didn’t have the transcript and they allowed the visit anyway. That’s stupid. And if Ahuna was tampered with before he went into the portal? All bets are off at that point. Maybe it was Vandy and Arky that spilled the beans but it was Vitello and UT that gave them that opportunity. Apparently.
