Vitello suspended.

Listen, I am Vols fan and love watching these guys and hope we continue to kill it. However, Tennessee Baseball literally started getting every top recruit and transfer over-night and it's not like Tennessee Baseball has a deep tradition of excellence and player development.
The THREE top transfers that went to LSU say you're wrong.

NCAA can kiss butt. They pick and chose who they want to punish. Meanwhile, Alabama is playing people who give out guns to murderers. Give me a freaking break.

Not to be that guy but the NCAA really doesn't have jurisdiction over a potential crime away from the game.

F that. Any UT fan has seen this crap over and over and over again. There's a stinking class system in college sports and we're sick and tired of it. UT is a boot licking whipping boy. We're reminded of it every damned time Bruce Pearl trots out onto the court in Auburn colors. Now it appears to be happening again. I'm just fed up with being "cooperative, compliant and BENT"!! Man the hell up UT. Fight for your coaches, fans and teams. Can't wait for the next email asking for a contribution. I'm sending back a great big FU to them.

It's good UT let Pearl go so I wouldn't make that comparison.

I just hope Alabama is letting the kid play because their hands are tied instead of it helping their chances of winning games. It’s such a bad look for the University.

Good news on the Garza Law postgame tonight, this is a minor setback. Might be a short while longer than just the 3 games.

Maybe has something to do with having the best coaching staff in college baseball.

Maybe they need to investigate LSU with that player giving a scholarship back because he knew he would make more money from NIL. This is a competitive advantage because there are limited scholarships in baseball.

So, a well respected poster in the recruting forum, who has ties to the university and knows things was asked about Vitello earlier today, this is his response.
"There will be more-- some UT self-imposed; some negotiated with NCAA. Not sure how much UT will release, but statements will go through legal. The whole thing is galling."

I don't think Vitello built this program on UT having every top recruit and transfer. Success and a really good coaching staff is helping us land some of those guys now.

No we didn’t. Our best recruiting class was 4th in the country in 2021 after 4 years of CTV being here. That year we had 2 top 100 players. His 2022 and 23 classes combined have 2 top 100 kids coming off perhaps the most dominant regular season in college baseball history. The 2023 class is good for 9th in the SEC.

I hope so, but I don't think so. This suspension of Tony is not an NCAA punishment. This is the UTAD punishing Tony. To my untrained eye, this means UTAD has investigated the violation on it's own and is suspending Tony in hopes that the NCAA will take it as a good faith gesture in it's assessment of the issue with Ahuna, or as a gesture to keep the Ahuna eligibility issue from morphing into a full blown ncaa violation investigation. It appears to me that the violation with Ahuna's portal recruitment is already a big concern of the ncaa within the confines of the transfer eligibility permit, and that's the holdup on his certification to play. If this turns into a full blown investigation of his recruitment, he may not play for all or a good part of the season. I sense this is a long way from being resolved. I hope I'm wrong and you're right.[/QUOTE
This has been going on since July. It's pretty much done. It was a minor , minor violation.
