“His Vols didn’t just rock college baseball’s boat during their 57-9 season in 2022. They knocked it out of the water. For those of us without a subscription, is there anything of note or substance in the article?
More evidence that our local media are a collective bunch of jackwagons.“His Vols didn’t just rock college baseball’s boat during their 57-9 season in 2022. They knocked it out of the water.
His team repeatedly rubbed opposing players and coaches the wrong way with their on-the-field antics and celebrations. Even if you didn’t approve of their uninhibited exuberance, you had to admit: They raised the awareness of the entire sport.
But Vitello shouldn’t hold his breath waiting for a letter of commendation from the NCAA. He’s more apt to get a slap on the wrist.
Winning at a once-dormant program like Tennessee’s creates detractors. Winning in the “we-don’t-care-what-you-think” manner the Vols did last season creates more detractors.
Those detractors would love to see Vitello fail. He needs to keep that in mind.”
We actually missed on almost all the high profile transfers this year.Listen, I am Vols fan and love watching these guys and hope we continue to kill it. However, Tennessee Baseball literally started getting every top recruit and transfer over-night and it's not like Tennessee Baseball has a deep tradition of excellence and player development.

Exactly what a fan of our rivals would say.Listen, I am Vols fan and love watching these guys and hope we continue to kill it. Player development? I’d argue that. Check the last couple of three or four drafts.Listen, I am Vols fan and love watching these guys and hope we continue to kill it. “Doing things the right way” also is an arrogant, holier than thou attitude because NOBODY successful in major college sports is NOT “cheating”, bending the rules, playing in gray area, etc.! If anyone thinks otherwise, they are naïve!!!"Doing things the right way" implies that he's out there intentionally doing things the wrong way. I don't buy that. Not today. Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. His prior suspensions were not NCAA recruiting/ infraction related.. .but surely you know that.
I see what you are saying. You have to realize that a suspension is a suspension no matter how it takes place. It’s a problem that he needs to get ahold of and stick with coaching, which he clearly is one of the best. It’s a distraction to the athletic department as a whole. I do wish they would move on from it though and let the young man play some baseball."Doing things the right way" implies that he's out there intentionally doing things the wrong way. . Your philosophy sucks man. Doing things the right way is not a holier than thou attitude nor is it arrogant. You know better than that. Have you heard of Rick Barnes? He’s a good example of that. Have you heard of Pat Summit? Hmmm…I can go on if you want. Last I checked, they were/are pretty good coaches.“Doing things the right way” also is an arrogant, holier than thou attitude because NOBODY successful in major college sports is NOT “cheating”, bending the rules, playing in gray area, etc.!
