All I know is this guys....there is SO much potential for this program with how good the instate talent is along with the hope scholarship program

If we were to hire a big name (Serrano, McConnell, Murphy) our recruiting would instantly improve big time and we could be a top 25 program by year 2.....I would do cartwheel after cartwheel if we get one of those 3 guys

Murphy being on your list speaks volumes.

What's the deal with Murphy? I know he was forced out at ASU and that the NCAA was involved. I know he reportedly fired Esmay via text.

Sounds like you get it. Even approaching a guy like Murphy would be stupid. Hammy just fired a guy that was cleaner than Murphy.

I'd love it if Corbin could be coazed to UT. First, vandie would freak out...he's the best thing they have! If not that, then hire Rick Honeycutt. He wanted this job before Todd (quote-me-now) Raleigh took the position.

Buzz i've hears from some former players is that Corbin might actually consider leaving Vandy bc there is an athletic department with an AD(quality or lack of being debatable) and for pay etc. Think it would have to be just right though.

Corbin turned down seven figures from Phil Knight to coach Oregon. There is absolutely no way he would even talk to Tennessee.

Oh, he'll talk. We'll make him talk. We'll water board him if we have to, but he'll talk.

Because Coaching Vandy's Instate Rival would be considered Treason?

He lands the top recruiting classes in America, sends kids to first round picks every year, never has to deal with academic casualties, has perhaps the best pitching coach in college baseball, has built one of the best group of facilities in the NCAA, and already signs nine out of 10 top Tennessee kids.

I know Tim personally and I can assure you there is absolutely no way he would even consider talking to Hamilton.

Based on the list, forum chatter etc...This could be the top 5, Hyams says Burke is the leader fwiw. All just speculation.

Dave Serrano(we can dream)
Dan McDonnall(premium)
Bobby Pierce(might leave if Bama calls)
Mike Bell(some UT ties)
Chad Holbrook(Might be lookin for his shot)

Why would we want Burke who has never been a coach or proven himself as a recruiter? Burke may want it but its not going to happen. My sources tell me the powers that be want someone that is here for the long haul and not here to draw a check and retire. It has also been mentioned they want someone that recruits the in-state talent hard and has the drive and determination to go after the best players in the country as well so TIFWIW! So, with that being said don't be surprised if Ash Lawson get's a interview and has a shot if he wants it.

Would be a great way to ensure the program stays in the cellar.

Your sources were only able to give s description of the ideal candidate and the best you can come up with is Lawson?

Stinks in here.

First, I said Hyams said it, so...
Second, it wouldn't be the first time the UTAD used Hyams for a smoke screen
Third (bold), I'd hope that's what your sources say.

Ok. Who you got?

The five names that I've heard have been mentioned on here;
Lawson
Serrano
McDonnell
Pierce
Burke- from what I hear he's stepped on some toes in jockeying for the job and its made some supporters unhappy. I don't know the whole story there so can't be specific.

Thanks for sharing. It's interesting that you actually heard Pierce's name mentioned but didn't hear Mike Bell.

You know a lot more names will come out as soon as Raleigh has officially been terminated. I'm really hoping Hamilton gets it right this time!

Hamilton is one odd AD

Raleigh said afterwards that he still hasn't heard from UT athletic director Mike Hamilton but is very much aware of media reports that he will be fired. After Friday's night's loss, he said Hamilton hasn't spoken to him since a Christmas party last December.

"I've gotten a couple of texts (from Hamilton)," Raleigh said Saturday.

One came after the Vols won a series against Alabama. Another was about a minor change related to SEC procedure.

He was asked if he thought the lack of interaction with his athletic director was odd.

"Well, yeah, it's a little odd," he said. "Our offices are 50 yards apart. I've been playing and coaching almost 20 years, and I've never seen it before. Maybe that's just his style.

"What do you guys think? Is that odd?"

Raleigh said he spoke regularly with Hamilton, who hired him, during his first three seasons, but not so much after last year.

"If he had an issue, he probably should have come to me," Raleigh said. "I didn't have an issue."

Maybe Mike Hamilton thinks tennis will be more profitable than baseball in the long run.
