Todd Raleigh is out of town Sunday. Unsure when he'll return. He doesn't have meeting set with Mike Hamilton. I think both sides negotiating

Could get crucified for this one but what about Elon's Mike Kennedy. He has sent his ball club to 5 regionals in the past 6 years. Won the SoCon title 3 of the last 4 years. Has had a short stint coaching team USA, and used to beat the tar of TR when he was still roaming around the SoCon. Guy is a proven winner but with that all being said, big gap in between the SoCon and the SEC.

All those SoCon titles were after CTR's departure. So obviously tainted.

Although comfortable doing so, I think Mike will avoid SoCon and Clemson connection guys this time around.

Kennedy added, why not, he's more qualified than some. He's an Elon lifer though, don't know that he's not happy being right there.

Here's the way I see it. Serrano is the first call. If there's been no change in his degree situation( I have reason to believe there is change), you figure out a way around the policy by working a Tennessee degree into his contract. Bend over backwards, make him the third highest paid coach in the SEC. This is Money, straight up.He can stay where he is and go to the regionals every year. Does Hamilton, CAN Hamilton offer $600 Grand, it would take that or more.

You have to call McDonnell. Per the article I posted from a year ago AND from a (premium) site, I'm convinced that McDonnell wants into the SEC. Does he want in on the very bottom of the SEC? But you have to call, right?

No way Schlossnagle, no way Esmay. Schloss, is at TCU, Tennessee is a HUGE step down for him.Esmay is at his "dream job", no way he gives up year round baseball to come here. Right?

So now we're at Pierce and Gilmore. Both have won games. I have no idea what they make presently. I don't know if Gilmore would say yes. He's built that program and been there a long time, would UT even want a coach his age? Would he want to give it up, to come here, currently the worst team in the SEC? Pierce, does he want the Bama job? I think he'd be a great candidate, better than Gilmore, but would he stay? If the top tier guys say no, I think full court press this guy, if he goes to Bama, he goes.

That's the top 4 right? Or... would some of you put guys like Bell and Holbrook above Pierce and Gilmore?

Thoughts?

here's the deal... Dan McDonnell does want to come into the SEC. However, Tennessee is not offering big time money for this coaching search, similar to the basketball hire. There is another SEC coach that is very interested in this job, but the money to switch is not good enough for him to consider it seriously. If UT is serious about rebuilding a baseball program, they need to offer more than middle of the road money to get a coach to come in and take over. Chris Burke is out. Whoever Pickler is is out. We need a coach similar to a McDonnell or a Tim Corbin to come in and get our players and fan base excited. I hope Mike Hamilton will make an intelligent decision for a change and go get a big time coach.

Wait a darn minute, how do you know how much money UT will spend for this hire? Give us a hint, what SEC coach is interested? Was Jeff Pickler part of the Chris Burke plan or something else?

I think Pickler was attempting his own coup.

So if the rumors are true...if you're correct Hobock, FW2 confirms 2 former MLB Vols were over zealous in their attempt for the job. Can't remember if that was here, another site or radio.

66, thought we PMed already. Baseball is money losing. They are willing to go to 550 max for the top coach, expect a solid name and expect around 450-500.

Did you know you can go to a Louisvile Cardinal baseball game for free? Money, Money, Money. I don't know what the heck you are talking about. I've gotten info from VN and Scout and googled the rest.Money, Money,Money...According to you the guy's raised half a billion dollars, let's hire a darn winner and make some money, money, money. I plan to check all the other SEC teams to see if they are charging $15 bucks for reserved seats to baseball games. You can buy tickets for $4, or $7 bucks according to UTsports.com, but at the window, BAM, $15. to sit down low. The Smokies don't cost that much.
