Here's the way I see it. Serrano is the first call. If there's been no change in his degree situation( I have reason to believe there is change), you figure out a way around the policy by working a Tennessee degree into his contract. Bend over backwards, make him the third highest paid coach in the SEC. This is Money, straight up.He can stay where he is and go to the regionals every year. Does Hamilton, CAN Hamilton offer $600 Grand, it would take that or more.
You have to call McDonnell. Per the article I posted from a year ago AND from a (premium) site, I'm convinced that McDonnell wants into the SEC. Does he want in on the very bottom of the SEC? But you have to call, right?
No way Schlossnagle, no way Esmay. Schloss, is at TCU, Tennessee is a HUGE step down for him.Esmay is at his "dream job", no way he gives up year round baseball to come here. Right?
So now we're at Pierce and Gilmore. Both have won games. I have no idea what they make presently. I don't know if Gilmore would say yes. He's built that program and been there a long time, would UT even want a coach his age? Would he want to give it up, to come here, currently the worst team in the SEC? Pierce, does he want the Bama job? I think he'd be a great candidate, better than Gilmore, but would he stay? If the top tier guys say no, I think full court press this guy, if he goes to Bama, he goes.
That's the top 4 right? Or... would some of you put guys like Bell and Holbrook above Pierce and Gilmore?
Thoughts?
