VOL Football Player Dismissed ??

I don't see how us having less depth and experience is a good thing. Berry may have more talent than Fellows, but far less experience.

Exactly. Less depth is NEVER a good thing. Its not like we can go sign a free agent mid-season.

And for the comparisons to the '04 Vols secondary...I guess you forgot the sec cg where we gave up almost 400 yards in the air. Our secondary was a weakness of that team, not a strength. And we dont have the D-line that we did then, and I dont think Hefney=JAllen or any of our linebackers=Burnett.

Mayo easily eclipses Burnett. McCoy will as well. Karl is heart, but not as much talent.

It was a weakness, but it was enough for us to go to the SECCG(with 2 FR QBs and Rick Clausen and many other big holes). That DL was pretty good, but this one will be good as well, just wait.

I've spoken with assistant coaches and Raymond Henderson on the matter. Again, you bring nothing to the table but the Negavol label. It's pathetic.

whatever would we do without KPT, our "inside guy"?

KPT -- your wisdom is unparalleled. You are a font of knowledge.

When have I ever claimed to be an inside guy? I merely stated that my knowledge on this particular incident is rather thorough. I have never made such a statement on any other issue. Add something to the discussion or go away.

Mayo easily eclipses Burnett.

That's a pretty bold statement. I don't know if I'd take it that far. I think because of his multiple injuries, we only saw Burnett at full power his senior year. I realize Mayo's had his share of injuries, but there's no telling who's were more severe. Mayo might surpass Burnett, but I think it's a bit early to say it's a sure thing.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Burnett wasn't a good tackler and was smaller. Mayo is just as fast and is about 15 pounds heavier, not to mention is alot better tackler. Burnett was good, but Mayo is special(if he can stay healthy).

What? Parcells drafted Burnett, that's all I have to say about your "he couldn't tackle" comment. He left UT at 6'3" 235lbs. How is that "small?" I know on that frame 235 isn't huge, but small?

Smaller, not small. Maybe I should have said Burnett isn't as big as Mayo. And I remember plenty of missed tackles by Burnett. Maybe he was out of position, maybe it was bad mechanics/technique. Burnett didn't exactly burn it up under Parcells either.

He's had knee problems in Dallas. He was also the leading tackler behind only Jason Allen while at UT. He was probably one of the most athletic linebackers we've ever had. I remember on more than one occasion he leapt completely over a blocker.

I'll admit he didn't live up to expectations until his senior year. However, he was awfully good that year.

A usually reliable poster from another board says it might not be weed. He said, per 2nd hand info, that there was a robbery and Fellows may have not been involved but his name was thrown in and he may have known about it.

This could get worse. I heard a similar story from someone who is friends with a player on the BB team. He is saying that it was a robbery and it involved Jajuan Smith. They said the decision has already been made to give him the boot as well.

I'm will remain skeptical until more details come out, but please don't let this be true.

Mayo was 3rd on the team in tackles as a SO. and played one less game than the 2 leading tacklers. He also lead the team in sacks and TFLs.

I've heard the same. JaJuan might be gone as well

Say it aint so! Are you guys hearing this? JaJuan experience was going to be key for next season. What the hell would make them want to rob somebody?

Justin: did you hear that weed was involved in the robbery?

Jajuan smith got a noise violation from the KPD last sunday around 2am. So, either smith went out and robbed somebody a couple days after getting a noise violation, or this is all one incident. But it likely isn't the same incident as the noise violation, because it would have already been reported (along with the noise violation).

Does anyone have any better info?

You pretty much burned that bridge. If you offer a heartfelt apology, I might think about sharing.

Yeah, the rumor is Jujuan, Fellows, and former Vol bball player Jemere Hendrix were the robbers. If true, I suppose it explains the dismissal of Fellows and proves that Hendrix was lying to Pearl last year when he was saying he had changed.

I've heard that
