This may sound crazy but if the baseball team wants to wear black go ahead but I don't wanna see my football team in that crap. I know that some will say we wore black until 1922 but the way I see it is we have been wearing orange a hell of alot longer than black

White Cleats.

That is all.

The white cleats are ugly as hell. The black looks good & helps hide the crappy adidas designs. We tried white a few years ago when Ainge was qb & they were fugly. Purple cleats would have looked better.

I remember back in the 80's they wore orange cleats one year and the season didn't go so well and at the end of the season they shipped them off to Russia

ok, Sounds to like to me you are contradicting yourself. You say you want an "alternative" jersey yet when we broke out the new Adidas jerseys you said they sucked, so wouldnt that be the same If we did break out another jersey

I don't think they know what they want...besides...it's really not up to the folks on the VolNation Board is it? Up to the team...I like the Classic Look (Orange jersey's, white pants, keep the black cleats and vice versa with away) or the all white (White jersey's, white pants, throw in the white cleats, to give it the complete look) or the white jersey, Don't go all orange, we do look like freaking pumpkins, I also like the idea of an Alternative/Black Jersey if you will...just for Special games...I don't see the Harm in it. People need to quit crying about petty bs.

LOL @ the ones saying stay orange, but yet when the pants are orange it's too much? You old timers kill me not wanting change. Lets head back to the caves cause these houses are just too fancy with damned ol central heat and air. Not to mention toilets, boy I tell ya in my days we went out back with some leaves and walked to school in 4 ft of snow. BARE FIOOTED!!! lol sorry I got a lil carried away

The 70's throwback uniforms from the UNLV game were awesome. I'd like to see them worn again in the near future. The wide stripe down the pants in 2002 was awful.

I don't mind the orange pants, I just don't like the all orange...it kind of looks dumb...The White jersey and orange pants is a good look.

Im not that stupid. I was referring to the 60's comment

I was talking about throwbacks, the pumpkin uni's from the 60's had black numerals with black and white strips on the shoulders kinda like LSU. They wore them for a year or two but you know what? They went right back to the orange!! Gee's man if anybody mentions anything before the Peyton manning era you pamper wearers get bent out of shape calling traditionalist old farts etc
I'm 29yrs old and I just don't wanna see no funky color schemes like the ducks!! That ain't us!!

Oh yes Black Jerseys for UT is a great idea. They rank right up there with the other great teams that make alternate jerseys like Alabama's black/white hounds tooth jerseys and Florida's green scale gator jerseys and lets not forget USC's all gold Trojan body armor jerseys!!! Would fit in perfect with those teams who "moved forward and spat on tradition"

[/sarcasm]

What was hard about it? Not counting throwback uniforms, how man times has the following teams wore a jersey that wasn't their school colors? Alabama, Penn St, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Michigan, Ohio St, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Miami, Florida?

College football isnt about "who can look the coolest" its about tradition. It's young boys wanting to grow up to wear the same uniform that Peyton Manning or Reggie White wore. You don't "evolve" in college football. You dont just randomly have your band start playing a hip hop version of Rocky Top. That's not traditional. If you want to take tradition out of college football and make it where there is no loyalty then just watch the NFL. They spit on traditions enough there.

You forgot uphill both ways. On a side note, 435 pages and 6525 posts? Seriously? U would think someone was advocating changing the uniforms or something.
