I thought it was about scoring the most points? :)

I'm curious as to whether or not other fanbases get this bent out of shape over some shirts and pants.

Traditional fanbases do. Alabama fans blew up when they found out their jerseys were going to be part of the Nike Pro Combat series. That was until they saw the jerseys and realized that there wasnt THAT much difference and it still kept a traditional look.

I remember back in the 80's they wore orange cleats one year and the season didn't go so well and at the end of the season they shipped them off to Russia

LOL! I remember that but they only wore them one game.

LOL @ the ones saying stay orange, but yet when the pants are orange it's too much? You old timers kill me not wanting change. Lets head back to the caves cause these houses are just too fancy with damned ol central heat and air. Not to mention toilets, boy I tell ya in my days we went out back with some leaves and walked to school in 4 ft of snow. BARE FIOOTED!!! lol sorry I got a lil carried away

:good!:

What was hard about it? Not counting throwback uniforms, how man times has the following teams wore a jersey that wasn't their school colors? Alabama, Penn St, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Michigan, Ohio St, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Miami, Florida?

College football isnt about "who can look the coolest" its about tradition. It's young boys wanting to grow up to wear the same uniform that Peyton Manning or Reggie White wore. You don't "evolve" in college football. You dont just randomly have your band start playing a hip hop version of Rocky Top. That's not traditional. If you want to take tradition out of college football and make it where there is no loyalty then just watch the NFL. They spit on traditions enough there.

and there is the problem. most everyone on here is complaining about the BCS. thats a perfect example of not evolving. still using the "traditional" bowl system and really cant claim a true National champ most years. forget palyoffs because afterall thats how ours ancestors did it. then damn it, thats good enough for us too.
im not saying that black jerseys is the wave of the future but it certainly isnt the massvie deal people on here make it out to be.

I still really liked the ones we used vs UNLV in 04.

I don't think we need any new jerseys though. I love the Orange and White and white and white. Don't like the all orange though.

That's about the dumbest thing I've seen on here. Congratulations.

Vandy has nice black jerseys and needs all of the fad oriented fans they can get. Go and help them out.

Clemson not a bad place to play. It's not Tennessee but you do get to wear Nike gear which is a big plus(say what you want).

They have had some exciting players recently. And they are in-state.

But all in all they aren't in the SEC. Won't be playing for the national championship in his freshman year as will the Vols hopefully. And they just aren't TENNESSEE!!!

Nike gear is no different then adidas. I'm sick of hearing about people complaining we need Nike. Who gives a damn? I mean forreal.

Believe me the swoosh matters. It is what it is. Nike looks better. But I hope we pull this kid when it's time. He's a big time player.

I agree with Breaker on this one, that Nike check means alot. I'll take Nike gear over Adidas any day of the week.

The older heads on this board will say it doesn't matter but it really does. Adidas new cleats look a lot like the Vapors. I think it was a smart move by Adidas to do that. They also realized they had to make lighter gear.
