I have been doing a lot of research on Nike vs adidas and most prefer Nike. Some even go as far as saying adidas hurts our recruiting. Thoughts? Which do you prefer?

The older heads on this board will say it doesn't matter but it really does. Adidas new cleats look a lot like the Vapors. I think it was a smart move by Adidas to do that. They also realized they had to make lighter gear.

Exactly, adidas really needs to upgrade alot of their gear. I have a friend that is a manager on the bball team & I asked him what does he like better Adidas or Nike & he said he'd take Nike any day of the week too. He said the only thing good about Adidas is you get alot of their stuff but it doesnt compare to Nike at all.

Don't think it really makes a difference in football. It might a little bit more when Nike takes over NFL, but if that's what a kid uses to decide, I dunno man...

It's usually ugly too. I buy Nike Tennessee gear which is sad. The new jerseys are a real upgrade. Those old cleats were horrid. I tried some on one time and they were too heavy. The difference between the Nike and Adidas equipment is really noticeable when you are wearing the two. But Adidas is looking as if they are getting it together.

This is debated on the board all the time, IMO that Nike check means alot. I'd take Nike gear over Adidas any day of the week. Adidas has finally started to step up their equipment lately with the new cleats & jerseys that were wearing.

I would take Addias in basketball any day of the week cause that what addias does best is produce top of the line basketball gear imo

We just began the first year of a new 5-year contract with adidas for more money than any of the Nike schools receive, so it's a completely moot point.

I really would prefer not to have bastardized versions of Tennessee uniforms on the field.

Adidas is in the NBA. But as far as their uniforms in college football Nike has them beat bad. I think Tennessee practice uniforms look better than the game ones. They have the 3 strips down the side. Adidas needs to step it up in college football.

I like what Adidas has done lately but we don't owe Adidas anything. I don't get the loyalty to Adidas.

Personally, I don't give a rat's ass. Brand loyalty is not my thing. Corporations are already running (ruining) politics in this country. I hate the way that they have insinuated themselves into big-time sports as well. My loyalty is to the Vols, not their sponsors.
