Not saying we should just saying in my buisness it's all about figuring out what makes consumers make a decision to purchase an item. This just interest me.

What are you really talking about?

On the Field? (jerseys, shoes, gloves, etc)

Or

"Fan Wear" (hoodies, t-shirts, hats, etc)


I think consumers are buying Under Armour. UA is capturing a lot of the market share from Nike. Adidas has never really been a threat to Nike for market share. Adidas and Reebok always fight for #2 in the market.

Personally, I don't give a rat's ass. Brand loyalty is not my thing. Corporations are already running (ruining) politics in this country. I hate the way that they have insinuated themselves into big-time sports as well. My loyalty is to the Vols, not their sponsors.

Special Ed, I understand your point you make but being loyal to the Vols means supporting their sponsors so they keep sponsoring the Vols. It's a "Catch 22". :dunno:

And if you look at it some of the most historic programs have Adidas.....Michigan, Notre Dame, Nebraska, UCLA, and Tennessee.....

I love adidas! The fan wear is awesome! Compare adidas running shoes to other brands and you will see how light their shoes are....not to mention the comfort. As far as on the field...the only real diifference is the the logo. They are all the same. The only jersey difference is the stitching pattern. Im not sure im digging the tv numbers on the sleeves.

I am aware of that. I was merely pointing out that the system that bore the BCS, the Bowl Alliance, crowned an adidas school National Champions three times in the five years preceding the first BCS. Although, to be fair, in 1994 Nebraska only wore adidas shoes, but Russell Athletic jerseys.

Yea because they have really raped Alabama & Penn States uniforms. I'm pretty sure Nike would'nt change the uni's at all if the University asked them. The only time they have messed with Ohio States is when they wanted to go with the old throwback look.

Also throw in USC. They are only a handful of teams that have actually used the Nike Pro Combat uni's. VT, Boise State, Florida, Miami, TCU, Oregon.

Notice those teams dont have rich traditions, except maybe Miami.

Which, if you'd look at a lot of Nike teams, you'd quickly figure out is false.

If a kid would only commit to a school because of Nike, then I think he would need to check his priorities.

No one would just commit to a school for the sponsor. But with that being said, It's a very tight race in recruiting and all players have there pros and cons for a school and being with adidas i bet thats another con in the majority of recruits.

Like I said they are a whole lot more teams that have traditional uni's that are made by Nike than they are teams that wear the nike pro combat unis.
