Was the change really that noticable? I mean it is nothing compared to a Nike change to where we would end up with a RealTree design with orange, black, and white with Nike

It was just renogiated through 2014 I believe with Adidas.


And yes, the posters referring to the tiered system Nike offered UT is correct. UT would be second class citizens in Nike World to Oregon, Bama, Florida, Ohio St, and a couple of others. UT would be treated like VT and basically be forced to wear whatever Nike designed for them.

UT has one of the best setups they could ask for with Adidas, and anyone who thinks they should give that up is not the most intelligent person posting on here.

where are you getting this info from? If you're just making a guess that's one thing but it's not correct

from someone I would trust on the subject:

The intangables that adidas offers over Nike are far too much for Tennessee to make a change. We also have a long-standing deal with them (12 years now), the only school that has been with them longer is Nebraska.

With adidas, we have an on-campus rep to address problems and are considered one of their top-tier schools. They also were willing to write a bigger check than Nike was. UA made a play, but did not offer shoes at the time.

The last time Nike made a bid (the last two times, actually, but I have first-hand knowledge of the last time), they made it very clear that we would be on their second tier in money, product, and exposure.

The offer that they have given us was not as a top tier customer, second tier.

Dude Im saying we are one of the top selling apparell teams in the nation. We were up there with NotreDame. If indeed Nike did offer that then its their loss. Its not a guess on us being one of the top sellers. It was a guess that we would get a top tier contract.

Just for topic shakes I'd prefer Nike just because of the large selection and variety of merchandise Nike puts out.

Yes, it was that noticable. None of my Vol buddies like it! When has the bammer jersey been altered into those designs you've displayed?

Nike has proved that they view UF and bama as more valuable than UT. Question is, do you still want them instead of Adidas?

I would take Nike all day. It honestly doesnt effect any of us on what kind of contract UT gets. We wont see any of that money so it really means nothing to us. I prefer to spend my money on Nike over Adidas. Their stuff is better made and better quality. Not to mention it looks better.JMO

Several years, as in a decade? Michigan has been Adidas and has no problem being in the top 5 and also "your example of comparison", Notre Dame is Adidas the last time I checked.

and yes the money UT gets does affect some UT fans since the shortage needs to be made up in donations for us to get to the same level.

Ok Again I will talk slow for you. I havent checked in a while and i just assumed all UT fans were like me and bought gear by the thousands per year. I buy all Nike stuff they come out with. I have bought all the Adidas Scorch Gear, its by far the best looking stuff they make. But outside of the Scorch Gear alot of it looks like stuff old people would wear and i guarantee they arent buying it. They probably buy the 5 dollar walmart shirt and hats. I was wrong for assuming. I didnt realize how far as a program from every aspect we have fallen. Some winning seasons and nice gear will go a long ways. Even though winning or losing people should support UT but their are too many bandwagon fans out there unfortunately. NotreDame and Michigan, especially NotreDame just has a bigger nationwide following. Something we used to have but have lost in recent years.

Exactly buddy..I will buy it because of the Power T and such small amout that Nik makes for us but its just poorly made and the majority of it just looks cheap. Outside of the Scorch Gear.
