If we would just switch to Nike i don't think we would ever have color problems again. You can blame the lighting if you want, but we pay Adidas a lot of money and they have plenty of time to get this right. We would just have to make sure Nike does what they do with Penn St. and keep the jerseys the same. I love our simple jerseys. We have tradition to protect. And if we ever did want to venture out, who better than Nike?

You're messing with a hornets nest.

Sorry, Nike has the exact same issue with fabrics and color matching:

I dont mind the black jerseys once a year but I think we should stick with traditilon. That what makes college football what it is right?

Also if we became like Oregon, it would shout corperate sellout loudly to fans. The great thing about American sports in ny opinion is that the uniforms for teams rarely change, therefore I can buy one jersey and it will be always up to date. Trust me, if you were over here you would get me more maybe. Because our soccer teams change their colours with the wind. It's terrible. A team should be recognisble no matter wat era imo.

I think a lot of you aren't aware that the orange that you say "looks yellow" is actually the correct orange. The orange we were using for years was far too dark. 2011 was the first time in a very long time where we got it right.

I'm not saying it isn't "correct". I'm saying it's ugly. I never mentioned correct colors or tradition. Tradition is for people with no vision.

Wouldn't mind seein' a solid orange helmet with a white stripe and a whit power T....It would be a way to be different but not too different....ya know what I mean.....

Different strokes I guess. I went to a couple games this year and thought our uniforms (and the orange) looked incredible.

As far as your tradition comments go, I never mentioned tradition either. My original statement was meant to be informative for folks that might not know they're looking at the correct orange for the first time in a long time. If someone thinks they're ugly, that's fine.

They're wrong  but it's their opinion.

I'm not saying lets do this...just sayin it would be different....And why not change the helmets? When they added the power T to the side everyone thopught, and still thinks it was a great change. Don't fear change, it is how we become truely great....

What people don't realize is the picture on their TV's can make the color look weird. Also, the night game at Bama the uni's looked a lighter orange on TV because of the lights of the stadium.

I'm fine with Jersey or britches changes, but the Power T on the white helmet is what distinguishes us, it is our tradition. Staple of the Vols uniform.

The camera does alter it a bit, but there's no doubt the orange was lighter this year. Helmet stickers and jerseys. Looked good too. I thought it's been too dark for a long time.

Personally, the only change I would like to see to our uniforms is to get that Nike Swoop on the jerseys and pants. Adidas, in my opinion, is a terrible sportswear company especially for football. They aren't nearly as trendy as Under Armor or Nike either. High School players don't wear Adidas gear. They wear Nike or Under Armor. And these are hideous:
