I would just like different design the same colors are fine.I've said it before I know but this is my favorite thread.GBO AND WHITE OR BLACK JUST NEVER EVER BLUE AGAIN.

Are you referring to the light blue on the men's basketball uni's from the '80s?

I actually liked those. I also liked the grey outline the football team used in the '87 season.

Just remember buying my dad stuff for xmas as a kid and some jackets had blue in them and it looked like auburn. I hated buying them but that's what he wanted.

There were some navy blue UT items back in the '90's. I see what you're saying about looking like Auburn. The men's b-ball unis from the early '80 were pretty cool.

If me I'm 32

No you're good, I'm primarily torqued by the guys who ask a question that has been asked and answered something like 40 times before. I'll give them slack if they are young teenagers because I realize the state of public education is such they can't be held responsible for searching the thread before posting.

the navy blue they used to use wasn't as dark and looked more royal blue. I'm hoping they stick with black instead.

Sorry for bumping but rather ask on this thread then start a new one like 95% of people on here would have done.

I've noticed that Baylor Mens team is sponsored by Addidas and the womens team is sponsored by Nike...why is that? Iirc back before our Ath depts merged last summer it was mentioned that only a couple other schools had separate depts, and I think Baylor was one of them. Could this be it, and is there an official reason why? Just a random observation.

I would have to disagree. With cutting edge technology and such, public education is better than it has ever been. Teenagers are just lazier than ever before.

No, they don't have an all-sports deal like most schools do, so each program makes their own apparel deal. Baylor's baseball and softball teams use Under Armour. Football and women's basketball have Nike, Men's basketball has Adidas. That's how a lot of schools used to do it.

I'd imagine the year Baylor has had will make them valuable enough to get an all-sports deal soon.

(since it's uniform related, and since there's no need to start a new thread when ya got this one.....)

Anyone know what # the new guys are gonna wear?? I know Croom's #18, not sure about the rest. No big deal, just curious.

Thanks DP. I had a feeling this one was up ur alley, and knew I can find u roaming this thread. :hi:

Very interesting. They sure have positioned themselves to have all three battle it out at some pt. They will only benefit when they decide to do it. Smart move by the Fightin Baptist of Baylor U!!!

They posted some number changes for current guys after Dooley's press conference today. Marlin Lane is now #15. Izzy Lanier is now #9.

It is in the spring guide posted on utsports.com.

Howdy YorkVol...I will admit I like ur post mainly because of ur avatar. Ur a good poster but always been a big fan of that helmet. Sad why it was used but it just shows us how things use to be. Sometimes I wonder if something tragic (God forbid) were to happen if the powers at be would allow that design to be used again in this crazy PC world we live in.

Back then when it was suggested I'm sure it took a millisecond to get approved, but now a days it would probaly go through more scrutiny then anything else. I'm thinking Fulmer would have fought for it as a coach, kiffin would have poo poo'd the idea, and I'm thinking CDD would go for it but not sure how hard he fight for it.

I hope we never have to actually use it again, but if we had a major sad tribute again what r ur thoughts on the chances it were brought back? Will our fan base have to call for it so hard that the powers at be will have to do it?

Sorry for being morbid but something ive thought about for a while now, and just wondering...

I think there is a chance it would be used since it was done before but more than likely there would be either a black stripe on the shirt or some sort of patch on the uniform to commemorate a loss.

Actually the light blue trim started in the sixties or early seventies. During the King-Grunfeld years, the Vols wore powder blue Chuck Taylor Converse on the road with their orange unis. It really brought out the light blue trim and looked really cool.

Im sure that would be the case, but so overused these days most don't even notice it.
