oh, see. . . there are fun options out there. . . . .
There is a LadyVols comment in there, but Im trying to be nice.
Don't know that this is exactly news, it started to shift this direction last year, but at UT's request, Adidas will be making less black apparel available at retail. More orange and white. There will still be some black jackets and t-shirts, but moving further away from it.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but I think that for like just one game every few years on homecoming we could have someone design a Tennessee State Flag helmet. I know the colors would clash maybe but for that game wear our away jerseys and white pants. Just a thought maybe one of you computer freaks could shop a pic for me I would be very obliged.

why sell less black apparel if they can make money??
You are right there.Dont like seeing the stadium with different colors. We do look better when all are wearing orangeBecause our "Sea of Orange" at football games was becoming a hodgepodge of orange, blue, black, navy, green, etc, and limiting to primary apparel to mostly orange and white will send it back in the right direction.
UT looked at what other schools were doing with their apparel and how other schools use their colors in making the decision. For example, you don't see very much black Alabama or North Carolina gear, they use their primary colors to stand out.
From a branding perspective, using our primary color as much as possible is a very wise move.
I have been saying this for years. We do not look like UT any more. I remember the game day crew talking about how impressive Neyland was when we played Auburn in 2004. They said that the orange in that stadium was a very impressive site. We look like Oregon State now.Because our "Sea of Orange" at football games was becoming a hodgepodge of orange, blue, black, navy, green, etc, and limiting to primary apparel to mostly orange and white will send it back in the right direction.

I agree with the decision but its not like fans cant buy from other brands if they want black or grey or whatever.
I have a closet full of UT shirts and i think maybe one is adidas

this actually makes sense. is the black trim on the away uniforms going to stick around for the long term? seems like you may have mentioned Dooley wanting it removed.
No changes to that. They experimented with some samples without the black outline on a couple of occasions and couldn't get numbers that were the right orange to be visible enough.
