Yeah, I have the personal experience as well, and a new jersey never fired me up, like DeerPark said, playing my rivals fired me up enough.
Also to the idjit that posted the Ohio Bobcats...seriously? A ****ing MAC team, when they play an SEC schedule, you let me know. Retarded post was retarded.
Uniforms should never get your team fired up. If that's a ploy you need to use then you suck as a coach (See Kiffin).
So new uniforms get a bad team in the MAC fired up, so everyone should do it?
If a team needs a new jersey to get fired up to play Florida or Alabama, then the coach has done a terrible job of teaching his team what being an athlete in the SEC is all about. Leave the motivational ploys to the MAC.
Exactly. Black jerseys no longer have that exciting flare to them anymore. On a side note, I remember when I was a kid in Nashville playing Junior Pro football. All of the teams wore colored jerseys for years until one year our coach unveiled the white jerseys we were going to wear all season. We went crazy when we saw them. Those were the days.I would argue a team like Ohio almost needs uniforms to get them fired up or to get attention, because otherwise they aren't going to get any, although again I don't understand why getting a black jersey is a big deal anymore since almost everyone seems to be doing it.
