i just tired of seeing our Helmets not match our Jerseys. Very embarrassing. Also we are not wearing Tennessee Orange.

It's been covered a million times. The orange in the current uniforms IS the right orange, it's just been wrong for so many years people got used to the wrong color, and now prefer that one. As for the helmets, its apparently just difficult to get the colors to match on different materials in varying lights.

Actually the way these kids go nowadays, it's become that a lot more of them come to play for the coach (position, head, or otherwise) that recruits them (& leave if he does) than it is so much they all look at us/come to play for us due to our tradition

Not to knock tradition, it's immensely important to fans, their purchases, and can help keep them on board (& in some cases, gets some players too)

Again, not to knock or diss tradition

You are exactly right, to many people don't realize that UT isn't a common name to a high school football player outside of TN. You get noticed by what you put out nationally by the way you play and how you appeal to the market. Then it's relationships that get them to commit to UT and tradition that gives them pride.

I thought Derek Dooley was wearing the right color Orange.

The fact that the coach has to even use that kind of pitch shows his failures in the recruiting department.

Hey, Oregon's been recruiting later-on-drafted-NFL kids with flashy jerseys and by writing them into their own comic books. It's really more or less whatever (legally)works / gets that recruit in the end. Some just have different sales techniques they're able to utilize effectively.

I gladly agree though that winning games is often a far greater / the easiest sell one can make with many recruits.

And that is fine for Oregon, whose biggest national relevance was having the head of Nike graduate from there school.

But while we are on Oregon, if you remember, not much was made about their uniforms until they started winning and became more nationally relevant.

There will never be a time when everyone is completely happy with the jerseys, brands, etc.

The new 4 team playoff somehow includes UF, UGA, LSU, and Bama.

We'd be so rich though.

Meh, LSU doesn't seem like it stings so much...and UGA - while it does a little more - doesn't as much as the other two

But yes the conference would make a nice pay day.

Since we're talking end of the world -which is usually, almost always crazy - read that back to me with some combo of Vandy & UK

(unless there's some other bane to UT fans I'm forgetting)

Come on Bobby don't take the dark side.....

My best friend's second cousin's daughter's baby-sitter works at Adidas. Says they're working on a Mossy Oak and Orange uniform for the NCSU game "to celebrate Tennessee's rich heritage of outdoor activities". TIFWIW, LOL.
