Is this serious or a joke? It looks BAD--as in genuinely bad. Sorry, but checkboard looks dumb down the middle of a helmet.

I do like black with orange--it's a nice combo. The checkboard on helmet--no. Some new uniform designs look good, others ridiculous. Maryland's uniforms last year were the latter--ridiculous. It should also be pointed out that new uniforms are another fairly significant expense for strapped athletic departments. I don't believe in turning uniforms into clown outfits just because 17-year kids like them--who's running things here? The problem is, once a couple of schools start doing something different, others do the same and then everybody does. I guess we'll be painting the field orange next. Grass is so green and boring.

These are 100% fake! I saw them in a tweet a few days back and it said a fan and his friend made them. I agree the checkerboard stripe is awesome but that orange face mask looks horrible. Don't see coach Jones changing the helmets

Winning is the only tradition I really care about upholding. If the kids want to wear puce helmets with lime green "T's" I say go for it! I just want to win again!

Yes it does...the least coolest of them all...but a pearlescent white with that shiny underlay, with a orange power T that is semi metallic would satisfy tradition and change.

Love the orange grill. Not sure about the checkerboard stripe, may need to bee solid orange. The orange grill make the helmet though!!!!

Winning is a tradition. Im all for whatever it takes to maintain that one...

I bet the Volwalk was met with "This isnt tradition."

I bet changing the orientation of running through the T from the 50 yard line down to the endzone was met with "This isnt tradition."

I bet dropping the "VOLS" from the stadium was met with "This isnt tradition."

Before traditions become traditions, they are always just another crazy idea...

And if anybody for one second would change how they pull for UT, financially, vocally, or in presence, based on a little uniform change for these kids who have no clue what UT was in its heyday, then they arent a true fan. Sports these days is all about branding...and the only brand we push now is the power T, and so long as it's orange and big, the rest is just details.

A seperate forum for offensive style rumors and speculation? Also may I suggest a STICKY "Let`s all pledge to break Bama`s A-Day att record,so we can see this"SPREAD" in action? May even get to see new helmets,Volfans! Seriously! I believe these are legitimate suggestions. The "we need 2 pack Neyland to see the spread",is VERY RELEVANT to national perception and will aid in recruiting. Just like cool unis a game or 2 a year would. Really,people,show up and let`s debate this offense in Neyland for the O&W GAME!! GO VOLS!

Good suggestions imo.

I wouldn't mind seeing some specialty uniforms with the the checkerboard, solid orange, or grey designs worked into them specifically for the Orange and White game as well.

Plus breaking Bama's preseason record (or whatever it is) would be cool. I'd rather beat them that season but just in case it wouldn't hurt to get one victory out of the way at a time.
