Sooooo...now nobody can design a new uniform after the year 1972? HaaaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaaa!! Lmao!!

I am glad you weren't the president of the "World -wide Technological Advancements Dept.". We wouldn't have cell phones, internet, microwaves, flat-screen TVs, front wheel drive, consumer security systems, etc... Lol. Tell me more... Please....!!! Oh never mind, the Andy Griffith Show is on right now. I know you are watching.

Naw I'm a gun smoke guy and besides I'm watching the Iron Bowl from 82. That's what football junkies do, not ***** about boring uniforms

This ain't no fashion show it's football, and the last time I checked kids ain't flocking to bama because of gimmick uniforms and a fashion show!! I didn't grow up looking at that ugly **** and if some 18 year old want to look at a fashion statement go buy a GQ magazine. Oh yeah by the way I'm 31 so not all old farts don't want change

Soooo..since this isn't a fashion show...you shouldn't care what uniforms we wear. Kids flock to Alabama now because they win championships. My argument (clearly detailed in my original Broncos post) is that the UT football program could benefit from an identity change. This sometimes wipes away the recent past...and allows the team to focus on the future.

Ain't nothing wrong with what we got, yeah they go there for championships. They have been through what we are going through right now. Did they change uniform designs? Hell naw. We can revive the program by winning.

The problem with that notion is that since UT has basically looked the same for 50-60 years, you would not only be wiping away the uniforms we've struggled in the past few years, but also the uniforms worn for a massive chunk of the school's winning. Seems kind of foolish to throw away over half a century of tradition just to try and help forget about the past 3 years.

BRAVO!! I reckon I just didn't know how to put it into words but you said it beautifully my friend!! Now put that in your pipe and smoke it fashion club!!

There is no proven advantage to wearing basically the same uniform design for decades. There is also no evidence that wearing the same uniforms plays any tribute to former players. This is just "traditionalist" speak 101.

I highly doubt anyone saw Justin Hunter in an Orange jersey and White pants, and then immediately thought of the great career of Hank Lauricella.

If someone loved the UT Vols enough to know Hank Lauricella...then I am sure that they would still love the Vols no matter what they wear.

We changed up the uni in 63 and got hammered by bama, after the great 85 in 86 we wore orange cleats got hammered by bama again, 2002 changed up the uniform after a great 11-2 season went 8-5 in 2002 after the change. If you've ever been apart of football there is a fine line of superstition in there and there's something's you just don't mess with. There is a history of superstition as to why some don't want change along with the tradition

I gave my opinion on that subject 3 pages ago. It was a breakdown of what happened with the Denver Broncos from 1977-1997. There is no proven advantage... But I could easily predict.

So what if we get "New" style of girly uniforms and still get our asses kicked the next 3 or 4 years. Then your whole new look for future attention whore uniforms myth will be debunked.

If you don't believe me about the superstition call former UT coach Doug Matthews on big orange Sunday this up coming Sunday morning and he will tell you about it.

There will be a changeup in uniforms in the coming years...the base look will be what we mainly see but get ready for some new "traditions"..
whether it's approved in this message board or not...I'll continue rooting for my Vols...hope I'm not alone when I do so

I can tolerate ONE change up a year. Nothing too funky if that's what it's gonna be but don't get shed of our traditional uniform all together it ain't right.

For every example you can give of teams changing then winning (Denver, Tampa Bay), one can give just as many examples of teams not changing hardly a freakin' thing and winning (Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Alabama).

Which gets back to the the uniforms in the end don't mean anything as far as results. So in the end, just be honest and say "I want to change the uniforms" without making up some bull about tying it to better results. Those who don't want to change, just say "I like our look as it is".

It's really that simple.

btw...is it completely impossible to match colors on the helmet to the colors on the jersey. Can modern science not accomplish this?

And how many national championships do they have? Teams that has no championship history tend to pull out stuff like this. Lets see how many NC's they win in the next 4 years with these uniforms.

CleVOLander, got any new designs?

I know there are still a few requests that I needed to do, but having been sick the last few days, I've honestly lost track of where I was or who was still waiting to see what.

I've not thought much on my own set of any new design as I've been also working on other Vol projects.

But as always, anyone can give me what concepts they wanna see and I'll gladly mock them up. : )>
