If they survive the game in Ann Arbor, then Texas probably finishes 10-2 which should secure the longhorns a spot in the playoffs.

For some teams preseason rankings matter quite a bit because there is only so much they can do to leverage their schedule. We have no such issues. If we take care of business we could have begun the season at 100th and it wouldn't really have made much difference.

Wow most other preseason polls have NC state a lot higher (12ish) and OK lower (in the 20's) with UT about the same spot as this one. then again noneo f these polls mean much for the next few weeks. they will drastically change after fall camps

The coaches have to game plan for opponents they actually play.

Yeah, but that narrows their focus. Obviously coaches know more about the game, but they also don't spend all day each Saturday watching 8-10 different games from all over the country

Ohio St may be the best team in the Country this year. They are Loaded with NFL talent with 6 players likely drafted early. They only play 3 games , @ Oregon, @ Penn St (white out game could be tricky, but we know what PS does, chokes on the big ones, swallows the little ones) and a much less talented Michigan. So we will see how they do in the playoffs.

How is the preseason media poll better than the coaches poll? I would put my trust in an actual mechanic instead of someone that googled how to change a radiator on youtube.
