No.
There is a trend.. My Memphis buddies have a disdain for Ole Miss. My Atlanta buddies view UGA as obno. I hardly ever come across Clemson fans in my world. Bama surrounds me all day and it is nice when they quit crowing.
If you think we recruit more against Clemson than Bama, I think you are wrong. Seems many just concede to Saban and recruiting. If we are going to ever be a championship caliber team, we need to be able to put together a better story and get those recruits that normally would go to Bama. Every loss they get chips away at their swag and benefits us.
There were a bunch of idiots chanting "SEC, SEC, SEC, SEC!" today in the stands. Instead of chanting "Tennessee", they chose to go with SEC.
#stupid
Someone doesn't understand conference perception, and how it benefits successful teams from that conference in the polls. Almost as if the last 20 years of college football is foreign to some people. Odd.The only reason to do this is simple; it makes every the fans of all 12 B10 teams madder than hell for some odd reason.
However, the stupid is rednecks who surmise the success of our rivals makes us "look good". I have met a few people that bring that up. Amd since then, I just walk away when they start trying to talk football.
Name one Tennessee player that came to Tennessee because Alabama or LSU or Florida won a title. It doesn't happen, Skippy.

11-1 Ohio St played in the weakest conference last year according to perception. They won the whole thing. Oklahoma made it this year even though they're from the same conference as Baylor and TCU, but then again OU is a traditional power while Baylor and TCU are not. A 1 loss SEC team will be just fine as long as it's Alabama, Auburn, LSU, UF, UT, or UGA. If it's Mizzou or SCjr or Miss St maybe not so much. It's more about team perception than conference perception.
Here's a quote from today from Mique Juarez, 5* LB from California who named Ole Miss and UCLA as his two favorites and that heÂ’s basically done with other programs.
"Ole Miss is great, the SEC, they produce linebackers out there,” Juarez said.
Why would Ole Miss's conference affiliation have anything to do with it? They're not the one winning NC titles.
Right on. Any of our teams winning just makes our conference look better.
You'd be wrong.
I was the biggest UT fan the night you guys played FSU for the national title.
Ditto for LSU, Auburn and Alabama when they represented the conference.
The point being made is if we have a loss and the conference is perceived as weak, we won't have the opportunity to play for a title. That's the debate. If you go undefeated in a P5 conference it's a moot point. But that hasn't happened in the SEC since 2011. The reason the SEC routinely gets 1 loss teams and even a 2 loss team (in 2007) in the title is because of the strength of the conference. Ask 11-1 Baylor or 11-1 TCU how it felt to be in the playoffs last year?

Blue Blood programs will get the benefit of the doubt. A team like Mizzoo would get "Auburned" and their coach would have to buy them rings like Tubbs did.

I respect yalls sec love but I dont think that way or will I. I hope TN rivals never win another title again. If TN is not the sec team winning it I sure aint pulling for bammer or fl to fill their trophey case. Silly! I hope bammer loses every game.
Are you sec fans tired of bammer? Tired of seeing all the wagon fans all over TN? I am and hope they fall off the high horse. I have TN pride not sec pride
My work takes me up north quite a bit, and when some of them yankees see me wearing my TN gear, they literally can't shut they're mouth about our Vols and in they're words, the SEC is the biggest cheating conference in the college game. Just go up north for awhile and you will might come back with my attitude about the SEC. I'm hoping Bama drives the Tigers through the ground! Especially after all the crap talk the Clemson fans have said about the SEC and the Vols. Ever since RB Feaster took a visit to Knoxville, and Johnson flipped to them, they can't shut they're mouths about it. So yeah I'm going to pull for the best conference in college football. And it's been mentioned quite a few times this bowl about TN almost beating Bama this season. Especially after the smacking they gave the Spartans. So IMO the stronger the conference is, the better the wins look for our Vols or any other SEC school.
