Ok boomer.I can tell when the kids are not taking it seriously. It starts with JM3. Always dancing in warm ups. I get the excitement of being a starter but humble yourself and take everyday like it’s business and your last. Secondly, I have no idea how many players I counted with their pant belts strap hanging and not strapped up. Was pretty hard to not notice quite Frank. Tighten those belts up and be professional, just because it’s 2023, does not mean we shouldn’t act like grown ass men. I believe this team can get it done. Just come in and take care of business. GBO
He still has to prove he can be consistent. We’ll find a lot out this weekendBeing a great teammate isn’t the problem . Nobody hates the guy , the problem is he hasn’t developed into what TN needs . He isn’t gonna take the Vols to the next level. I’ll eat my words , gladly , if he proves me wrong . I think everyone in Vol country likes the guy and rooting for him , but there’s a huge question mark that comes along with him.
I agree... I think adrenaline sometimes gets to him in the moment and then he fires a rocket to get rid of the ball when it's not always neededJoe can throw the touch pass, I just think sometimes he resorts to the fastball when it's not necessarily needed. That also gives the receivers less time to adjust if the throw isn't accurate. Heath Shuler talked about it a little bit on the radio this week.
To be honest, when Joe Milton is bouncing around during the game it means he is loose and the results usually show it. Same thing when he is in the pocket. If he is bouncing around a little he is relaxed and reading the field. If he stops bouncing and plants both feet, watch out for a high, off target missile because he doesn't follow through. Hendon Hooker bounced around, a lot of times in tandem with JM3. Did it bother you last year?I can tell when the kids are not taking it seriously. It starts with JM3. Always dancing in warm ups. Milton needs to take some steam off his passes and develop some touch.
Sorry, but that's like your lady cheating and then you saying "lets flush it and startover".I grinned at Thomas repeatedly saying "going out there in the game and having fun" because games may be much easier than practicing under Rodney Garner.
As for the players only meeting, Thomas is a survivor of the Pruitt chaos. He knows what a team in bad shape looks like and feels like.
I saw no sense of hesitation in his voice to talk about the meeting, the unity, the need to keep focus, and the leadership on the team. He didn't seem stressed by the question.
It occurs that the players knew there'd be some "what's going on with this team?" after the APSU game and the leaders wanted to say, in his words, "let's flush that game and move on."
I'm with Omari, let's flush that game and move on.
Are you implying he's going to make a QB change?Sorry, but that's like your lady cheating and then you saying "lets flush it and startover".
There's a reason why THAT happened against AP.
It was:
- environment that day (delay)
- Joe Milton throwing inconsistent
- terrible officiating.
- WR drop balls
How many of those 4 things can coach Heupel fix?
This is an old team that has played bad football before last season.
Coach has to be brave enough to make the right call when necessary. And it's coming.

These guys need to have a tougher mindset if that delay bothered them at all. I would contend #2 on your list may have had a lot to do with #4. Milton began to press too much on some of the subsequent throws.Sorry, but that's like your lady cheating and then you saying "lets flush it and startover".

It was a terrible loss wasn't it......wait.Sorry, but that's like your lady cheating and then you saying "lets flush it and startover".

Nico isn't physically ready and I can't imagine him beint as turnover free as Joe. It's going to have to get really really bad for them to pull Joe.It was a terrible loss wasn't it......wait.
If one reads here you'd think this was discussion after GA State. It was W, an odd W, but a W.
Heupel has a list far longer than 4 things to fix, I'm sure, but please tell me where I can subscribe to your coaching newsletter.
Get over yourselves. Josh Heupel is a better QB coach than any of us here and whether "you can see what's going on and don't need to be a QB coach or head coach"...... you aren't remotely qualified to judge Milton's performance compared to Heupel.
As has been mentioned, Joe isn't losing.Nico isn't physically ready and I can't imagine him beint as turnover free as Joe. It's going to have to get really really bad for them to pull Joe.
My thoughts are, if Milton plays just OK, even missing guys sometimes BUT everyone else plays well including the WRs catching those tough throws, this team is beating Florida handily and winning a bunch of games. As has been mentioned, Joe isn't losing.
If we lose Saturday and Heupel thinks it's Joe that's the problem, he's got to weigh Nico's development issues vs Joe's issues.
The reason I'm not pulling my hair out is that I think Heupel is possibly the best coach in the SEC to make that decision if he has to.
I'm not qualified for that. No one else here is either. Lucky for TN, Heupel is. But wait and see, a loss will bring us close to the Volnation curse of "Heupel is not the guy." Just watch.
This is my thoughts aswell, He wasnt superman in the orange bowl. He played consistent and made the right reads. If he can keep doing that, this is a 9-10 win team.My thoughts are, if Milton plays just OK, even missing guys sometimes BUT everyone else plays well including the WRs catching those tough throws, this team is beating Florida handily and winning a bunch of games.
But, but, but..... If he doesn't put up Hooker stats the team sucksMy thoughts are, if Milton plays just OK, even missing guys sometimes BUT everyone else plays well including the WRs catching those tough throws, this team is beating Florida handily and winning a bunch of games.
Defense struggling? UF running the ball well?? Based off what? But, but, but..... If he doesn't put up Hooker stats the team sucks
I think our D struggles Saturday, personally, more than our offense. Just a hunch but I'd not be surprised to see FL have success early running the ball.
I think the offense comes out and I think Coach Heupel comes out with something to prove to the naysayers.
As I said, a hunch. I feel like FL isn't going to want to turn the ball over and will be worried about our secondary making a momentum changing play that kicks our offense into gear.Defense struggling? UF running the ball well?? Based off what?
If the defense struggles it will ONLY be because Tim Banks wet the bed. Florida's OL was atrocious against Utah. I expect dump penalties/mistakes to be fixed but they're just not a good team. Mertz can make plays but not with his legs, which is always going to kill Banks. But, but, but..... If he doesn't put up Hooker stats the team sucks
